Review of Glass Onion

Glass Onion (2022)
8/10
Captures the magic and whimsy of the first one, with a little more to say about the lives of the wealthy

Any review for this movie can be summarized in very short: if you liked the first, it's going to be very very likely that you'll enjoy this iteration.

The twists and turns are even more intricate than last time, the laughs at the elite are even more on the nose (if that's your thing), and the callbacks to earlier parts of the film are going to have you feeling even more dumb than it did the first time around.

I must admit, as an avid fan of the original Knives Out, I came to the theater for this with an overly keen nose for clues and ticks. There may have been 1 or 2 predictable turns in the plot, but let's not pretend it wasn't a fun night at the theater anyway.

I'd say you should wait for this to hit Netflix in a few weeks, but the theater I was in was packed to the brim, and the laughter, gasps and flicker of light bulbs in the audience's heads made for a memorable movie experience. If you're susceptible to smartphone distractions while you're watching movies on your couch, I'd say get to a theater for this one and give yourself a Netflix re-watch when it drops- you'll need it!
