Unlike Marvel, DC is comparatively dark. But after Seasons 1 & 2, it gets pretty boring with most episodes involving talking, driving around in cars, getting out of cars, planning, fist fights behind closed doors and then more talking.
The scale of the action is not too enticing. It might have been more interesting if the TV shows, which may be on a more limited budget, served as prop for the big film releases, building up the story arc and concluding with the films. As standalones and often distinctly demarcated from films, and without enough budget to rival the movies, it might fail to latch on to viewers interests for long. Then there is the recasting of established characters with diversity, which garners a separate telling of its own.
