After the events of the previous episode, Oliver returns home to find Thea dying and takes her to the hospital where the doctors are unable to save her life. So when Ra's makes an offer to Oliver to save Thea, he accepts despite Diggle, Felicity and even Malcolm not agreeing with the method being used to save Thea. Most of this episode was relationship-driven and it changed the status quo of the show. We also got to see some excellent character interactions, including a long-awaited moment for fans of the show and some emotional ones which land perfectly.
The flashbacks feel filler with them not really doing anything except take up screentime.
