A Plague Tale: Requiem (2022 Video Game)
9/10
A truly touching story of love and denial

Warning: Spoilers
Even apart from its predecessor, this game truly shines and becomes something more than a game. The characters, setting, and plot are wonderful, and while some may find its story disappointing as a follow up to the second, I find that it lived up to its hype. It's an expansion in every way, gameplay, music, graphics, scale. You have more time to really take in the 14th century French country side and idealic island of La Cuna.

Do I even have to say anything about the performances? They were so intense, so on point and so real that sometimes you have to take a break because it becomes so tiring in the shoes of Amicia. All creative forces involved should be proud that they created such extraordinary characters!

The dynamics between each character are complex: Hugo & Amicia, Hugo & Society, Amicia vs. The world. Her obsession drives home the tragic nature of Hugo's condition and how it was inevitable that he would eventually succumb to the dark forces that brought him to the island, his (and Basilius') hunger for revenge. I think everyone who played the first one should give it a shot, its about twice the length of the second one if you explore around so prepare to make some time.
