Have you wished for a new open world platform licensed game? Then this is quite it. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a pretty good return of a type of game we have rarely seen in recent years. Well, it can have a few things that didn't go exactly how we expect like a predictable villain and gameplay that can at best be basic. I mean, we don't really get a lot of new gameplay elements for a game like this. However, there are things the game can make up thanks to a good story, some side missions with fun scavenger hunts, neat graphics that gives detail to an open world game, and strong charm that gives enjoyable references to the show. Of course is safe to say that the SpongeBob SquarePants fans will have a good time with this. But also, those that even miss the time where open world license games used to be a thing at the time. I'm not saying that games have to go back to mediocrity like how some licensed games go, but this feels under appreciated these days when it comes to gaming. I wouldn't consider in standards of something awesome in The SpongeBob movie game or Battle For Bikini Bottom, but it's rather nice to see a game people may have wished for.
