7/10
A Greta fun of a film

Warning: Spoilers
Shazam Fury of the Gods was directed by David F Sandberg. And it stars Zachary Levi and Asher Angel as both Shazam and Billy Batson, I liked this more than I expected. Of course, this isn't a perfect movie with no flaws, there are aspects of the film that I wish were better. The CGI looks cheap in parts, especially during the first act, and at times too much expositional dialogue feels tedious to sit through. But both Shazam films shine when it comes to the characters and the heart & soul of the story. This isn't just a 'Shazam' movie, unlike last year's Black Adam, where the film was focused on The Rock's titular character ONLY. And where that film focus was too weak for me. In Shazam movies, every member of the family is memorable and likable, just like the main character. By the time the film was almost over, I liked this family and it made me want Shazam 3. I mean the best thing I can give this film is that if you loved the first film, then you will love the second film. If you hated the first film, then don't bother with this one. This film captures EVERYTHING from the first and somewhat does it again. But for some reason, I think it did it better. The bad guys despite the horrible trailer, are not too bad. They're perfectly fine one-time villains. The action is about the same, the visuals mediocre but compared to the MCU great, and the comedy hits better. I get it that not everyone is supporting this film due to the new phase DCS (DC Studios) is coming and there is no reason to watch this film anyway, but if you like having a good time watching a film about what it's like being a hero or what it means to be the hero. Then this is your film. This film gets a 7/10. It's not perfect but it's miles better than Black Adam.
