This is the second film in the Love Comes Softly series based on the Janette Oke book series of the same name and it begins right where the first film leaves off.

Marty and Clark Davis are happily married, Missy is now a grown woman, Aaron is helping out with the chores and Arnie is little but eager to try to pull his weight on the farm as well. While cutting firewood, Clark has an accident with an axe and a young "stranger" shows up to help not only Clark but Missy and Marty, to get this year's crop planted. Clark offers this "Nate" a deal to pay him a fair wage once the crop is harvested. With the railroad surveyors comes a well dressed gentleman caller for Missy...but he may have some competition from "Nate".

This a sweet continuation of the pioneering Davis family. The messages of hope, faith, forgiveness and love are continued in this second offering. Marty gives Missy some excellent advice about how to choose a life partner, it isn't about the one that wants to be with you in the best of times or when things are good, but the one who want to be there in the worst. It's a powerful lesson.

I think this will appeal to the romantics out there, especially those who appreciate strong faith. You do not need to see Love Comes Softly first, but you will appreciate it more if you have. This is a beautiful series and I really appreciated them bringing back both Katherine Heigl and Dale Midkiff to reprise their roles as Marty and Clark.
