This program starts off extremely well as a character driven drama about an angry, misanthropic alcoholic dealing with the world and his life. Then suddenly there appears a plot driven turn -- the introduction of an ex-policeman alky who stalks his new sponsee like a madman. And from there the show goes from some really deep and wonderful writing that springs from the heart of the already introduced characters (especially the wonderful ones at the AA meetings) and ends up a sloppy sitcom without any character development and just a bunch of, well, situations that aren't actually comic at all. A shame that all this talent had to be spoiled with bad plotting.
