I heard about this when Woody was on Bill Maher Club Random. I had such high hopes as I love Woody's work.
I don't think the problems with this film had anything to do with Woody. He played his typically broken and laissez faire character replete with alcoholism and all.
First thing I noticed was at the captain's dinner, they presented a plate to a passenger and described it as sea urchin. It had no sea urchin but it did have a lot of mussels.
Next Woody is reciting famous quotes with the Russian shpit seller. He quotes. Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. - George Carlin". But they did really bad ADR and overdubbed the correct attribution of Mark Twain.
I really stopped watching closely after that but it all went pretty much formulaic anyway.
