It's an interesting approach to a updated version of the original.

It's okay. The writing is pretty good. It's kind of weird to watch the characters not knowing each other and using their real names more frequent then their code names. Seeing Flint acting like "Sam Gerard" from the film "The Fugitive" is a twist. But I do like how they subtly introduce Joe's and Cobra characters, like the Dreadknots, Scrap Iron, Destro before the mask and Maj Bludd as an assassin, Law and Order, Steeler, and so forth. It takes some getting use too. It does have some adult themes as well. E.g. Scarlett, being fake pregnant and trailer trash, yelling for the baby's daddy or snake eyes's being throat cut, showing how and why he can't talk.
