Horton Hears a Who! (1970 TV Movie)
7/10
Chuck Jones meets Dr. Seuss again
30 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I think the Horton Hears a Who! From the year 2008 was one of the best modern adaptations from a Dr. Seuss book: As usual, the minimal plot from the book has to be stretched, but the story felt natural and entertaining.

Oddly enough, despite being shorter than said movie, this animation by Chuck Jones feels a bit longer than it should have been, with most of its lenght dedicated to musical numbers.

That being said, the amazing animation by Jones made it a totally worth-watching experience.

I do notice a different approach in the way Jones adapts Seuss in comparison with Hawley Pratt: While Pratt tries to be as close as possible to the source material, Jones adapts Seuss to his very peculiar style. And he does it pretty well, in my opinion.

I liked the Grinch little cameo.
