I have trouble finding where to start.
If my name was Sheldon this review would be a few dozen pages long for only the first episode.
I'm horrified that one of my life heroes put his name on this monstrosity. William Shatner, OMG what were you thinking? Although with your body language during the mission briefings, we can almost see how much you despise your role.
We have a standard Reality-tv show "Survivor-ish" type. Mainly challenges and someone gets voted off the island. Here's the weird part for me.
Your supposed to be on mars, and every 48 hours your able to "supposedly safely" extract/evacuate a member of the team. If you know anything about space travel you understand that having the possibility of evacuating people of Mars every 48 hours is one hell of an amazing feat!
But for some reason you can get people off, but they have a VERY limited amount of food, a communication array with no backups, a completely useless decontamination chamber, and that's just a start.
I believe during the first episode when 2 contestants arrive with the rover and they aren't wearing gloves. You're both dead dudes!
The suits and masks are basically worthless, it's nice to see people get down and dirty and muddy in reality shows, but this is supposedly mars, if you end up with Mars-dust on your face, you should be dead... 1st mission, 1st episode, everyone who went on the EVA during the storm "should" be dead.
According to logic & science, "not what happened on the show": Tallulah Willis is the only one that should maybe still be alive after episode 1, and win! "not a spoiler, it's not what happened"
With all the efforts by both private & governmental institutions finally really working to get humans on Mars for real, this show is a total insult to all of these people, to all astronauts and to anyone who loves science.
I don't write a lot of reviews, usually only good ones.. but... I just can't believe what I just watched, I'm just mad.
