This was a great first episode to a show that already has the potential to go places and become a classic!
The thing that stands out are deffinetely the two lead characters, in particular Cohle, who is played perfectly by Mathew McCounaughey! The man steals dvery scene he is in! Him talking about his world-view-philosophy really stood out to me and creates this complex character that you never quite know where you have! Woody Harrelson is equally good as his counterpart!
The case is also dark! Not everything is shown to us, but that just helps create this dark and mysterious atmosphere! Sometimes its just as dark just to hear about it!
Overall a very effective pilot that leaves you wanting to watch the rest!
