I stumbled upon this 2013 DC animated movie titled "Superman: Unbound" by sheer random chance here in 2023. And without ever having heard about it, I opted to sit down and watch it. Sure, I am not overly keen on superheroes in general, but do tend to watch the movies and animated movies when I have the chance, as it usually is adequate entertainment.
However, the storyline in "Superman: Unbound", as written by Bob Goodman, just sort of fell short of entertaining me. It was difficult to get into the setting and the atmosphere of what director James Tucker was bringing to the screen. Sure, I haven't read the graphic novel, upon which this 2013 animated movie is based, but I just didn't really enjoy this animated movie all that much. Yet, I managed to sit through all 75 minutes it ran for.
The voice acting in "Superman: Unbound" was good, though the only voice I recognized was that of Diedrich Bader. It was nice, though, to see the likes of John Noble, Jason Beghe and Frances Conroy listed here on IMDb as being part of the voice performances as well.
The art style used in this animated movie was adequate. Nothing fancy or particularly memorable though.
