The plot doesn't bear close examination but does have some good scenes carried easily by the cast. Mae Clarke as Sylvia, the parole girl of the title, is excellent and makes one believe in her character. Ms. Clarke should have been a major Hollywood star but sadly that never happened. In good support are Hale Hamilton as her partner-in-crime Tony, Marie Prevost as the perky Jeanie whom Sylvia meets in prison and Ferdinand Gottschalk as Mr Taylor the charming store owner. Ralph Bellamy is the other main lead and is OK I suppose. The two opening scenes of the shoplifting scam, one going well and one not give the film a good start. An entertaining film anchored by the radiant Mae Clarke.
