This is the first production of Meteor Garden, poor quality in the filming, background noise is terrible! Story is good, you can see why it made some big stars get their start. And now that I have watched all the versions, there is even one from Thailand, I believe it is the most recent version. And it's pretty good too! I still have my very favorite one, even if the ending was a let down, still good. One version has more violence in it, more harsh in the bullying scenes.
Have to say something about this version's female lead...stop pushing the one you love away, accept him for who he is. She was way over the top, did it on every count. Loud, could have been more attractive, tattoos, to much arguing, ugly clothes, don't like that he hit her, most of my complaints are about her. I get so frustrated with the lack of communication in some of the versions! And of course way to long! I use now finished this version and it is the oldest. It is a classic for sure!
