Shenxiu lost her mother and has to deal with an uncaring father. On a cruise, she gets swept away by storm and finds a magical submarine restaurant.
In some ways, the plot is similar to Spirited Away, but there's enough deviation, both storywise and plotwise, that makes this a quite unique film.
The animation itself is on two different extreme: semi-realistic CGI versus a type of CGI that looks like a living painting. I wish the latter was used more often as the movie can get visually drab at times, but the contrast between fantasy and the more nitty gritty parts of life is probably the intention here.
