Why?

I really think any film of late that has Kathleen Kennedy's name attached is destined to be a steaming pile of what the Spinosaurus did. The first two were good, I wanted to try to like the idea of this one but really couldn't from the beginning. Sam Neill seemed uninterested throughout, the Kirby's were obnoxiously stupid, and the idea of the kid lasting 8 weeks on the island meanwhile trained hunters all being killed in the first act was ridiculous, the ending with the rescue was very Disney like, and one thing I noticed is the movie didn't really flow from one scene to the next, suffered from bad editing as it seemed more like extra footage tied together to make a film. I really don't mind mindless films, but they have to engage some positive feeling such as a character, dialogue, music but this felt mostly lazy aside for the effects. For me the best segment was the trio of teradactyles (forgive spelling) flying thru the clouds at the end. I guess the other real plus is at only 90 min it doesn't waste too much of your day. 2/5.
