Aunt Bee gets Fred Goss pushed on her and she thinks she must accept it to make the men happy. If it wasn't for Opie she would be living a life of misery. I wonder how many women got wrangled into marrying someone they cared nothing about.
I'm not sure why I need to say more than this. Aunt Bee has always been one of my favorite characters on TAGS, even if she does cry too much. Many people fault Clara Edward's for pushing Aunt Bee into Fred Goss' arms, but really, but why is everyone so eager to push her into any relationship? And have things really improved any for women in the U. S.? I would say not much.
