Blood & Roses was better on second viewing! Well I did not think much of Blood & Roses on first viewing but second time around the episode ages better. What works: The character development: The antagonist mobster was done coldly perfect. With out remorse and vicious I believed Frank Mossca as real. Gina goes way too undercover a pays the price with the antagonist was memorable. The side character mobster, and sit down were realistic. Frank Stallone and the Sonny kitchen scene was memorable. Little time Sonny character had just crushed it on Blood & Roses. The music score for the climax was great! What did not work: Another deep cover episode which does not stand out. A bit formulated, not as good as Heart of Darkness or Smugglers Blues which broached the deep cover story line better. Well acted and directed which means worth watching. 7 stars.
