Review of Gomorrah

Gomorrah (2014–2021)
4/10
Unrealistic and ridiculous
21 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This series falls into the realm of laughable and ridiculous, as it portrays a world where greedy mafiosi continuously betray and kill each other, leading to an inevitable, and frankly predictable, end where everyone meets their demise. The young characters wielding guns seem more influenced by Western movies than reality. While the series may have garnered hype, it ultimately falls short, relying on tired tropes. The constant betrayal is laughable, one day gennaro loves Ciro the next day he hates him and wants him dead.... And the death of Enzo.... It is so ridiculous.... Why send Enzo to meet the woman and not another guy? It's just too predictable and nonsensical. And the final scene Gennaro and Ciro are friends again and get killed by random men?? Looooooooool

On a positive note, the soundtracks manage to salvage some entertainment value.

It is so unrealistic, there is nowhere in the world (other than war zones) where there are so many deaths and the police does nothing? Hardly anyone gets arrested and convicted. It's utterly nonsensical.
