Actually, I hadn't really seen anything by Lloyd, so let's start with perhaps his most famous film, the scene with the clock is of course very well known to film connoisseurs, but the story behind it is not really.

I thought it was an entertaining comedy, the well-known fact that he wants to make it in the big city before he wants his fiancée to come creates quite a few funny situations in which he has to be quite inventive to hide from her that he is far from successful in his job at a fabric store.

It is not all portrayed as extremely as with Chaplin, who was often able to portray the stupid idiot in a very exaggerated manner and I appreciated this slightly more realistic approach.

The stunt with the climb and the police officer are nicely done and certainly look quite spectacular for that time.
