In order to get a 10 rating from me, I have to think if the show could have been done better. I don't think so. For the story that was told from the point of view of Miep and Jan Gies, it was just right.
Sure, they could have added more Hollywood macabre scenes in the concentration camps, but it was unnecessary, and also not from the POV of Miep and Jan. We're supposed to be left wondering what happened everyone just like the characters (although being a historical event, we already know, but that's beside the point). We're supposed to take the ride with Miep, Jan and the characters in Amsterdam.
This is an excellent show and I recommend it to anyone whether you like drama, history, or both. It has the right tone of being watchable without being overly uncomfortable - an amazing feat given the story.
