Mel Brooks: Make a Noise is fairly conventional, as far as documentaries go, but it's comprehensive and engaging throughout. I like Mel Brooks a lot and watching this definitely made me want to rewatch a couple of his films, especially Blazing Saddles (yet again) and Young Frankenstein. I think the best parts of this documentary are the parts that show clips from his various movies, but perhaps that's a testament to how funny they can be. Anyone who's a big fan of Brooks probably won't learn a great deal from a simple and straightforward documentary like this one, but it's a great way to kill 80-something minutes and is pretty well-polished throughout.
