This was boring...
12 February 2024
"Un Gatto Nel Cervello" (aka "A Cat in the Brain") was a movie that I had never heard about, nor watched obviously, prior to stumbling upon it here in 2024. I was initially lured to the movie by it's English title, as I hadppened to come across a copy of the movie with an English cover, and thus picked it up. And seeing that it was a horror comedy movie from Lucio Fulci, I have to admit that I sort of had to sit down and watch it.

Writers Lucio Fulci, Giovanni Simonelli and Antonio Tentori put together a script and storyline that entirely managed to fail to entertain me. The story was utter rubbish, and I found no entertainment or enjoyment in the narrative. And it didn't help much that the narrative was so unfathomably slow and uneventful.

I managed to suffer through a staggering 24 minutes of this movie before I tossed the towel in the ring and gave up out of sheer and utter boredom. This was by no means a movie up to par with the usual stuff you had from Lucio Fulci. As for this being a horror comedy, well I saw no comedy in the 24 minutes I suffered through.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, aside from Lucio Fulci whom was essentially just playing himself. Yeah, it was that inventive.

The version of the movie that I got my hands on, was unfortunately an English dubbed version. And I absolutely loathe dubbed movies. I had assumed that the movie would have been in its original Italian language, since it was a Lucio Fulci movie, but that was not to be.

This is definitely not a movie that I am returning to watch the rest of. 24 minutes in and I was bored senseless.

My rating of "Un Gatto Nel Cervello" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.
