Lanthimos is part of a postmodern film movement known as the Greek Weird Wave. Yorgos Lanthimos is known for his unique and unconventional filmmaking style, characterized by dark humor, deadpan delivery, and a penchant for absurdity. He is not for everybody that's fore sure. His most approachable film is The Favourite , I think you boys would really like this one . Emma Stone does her own thing and shines brightest with art house cinema . Poor Things celebrates sexuality. It is also one of the most divisive films of the past year thanks to its ample nudity and profanity. Emma is fantastic she really embraces her weird and is willing to declare her shelf to the world in this gem of an arts house film as character Bella Baxter . I am such a fan of Emma Stone she gets it...... always her own unbridled creative self. I totally get how some folks may view Poor Things as more of a softcore . I think it is brilliant thanks to Stone and Lanthimos direction . The film is definitely worth checking out to decide for your self I am glad it is accessible to the masses through the HULU app or it may have been pasted up by many.
