I read the book and they changed a lot of important details that would have made so much more sense.
In the book she is a minor and the police is looking for her (which adds a little bit of adrenaline), he was best friends with Noah, she doesn't meet her mom, the doctor has a conversation with her, about the surgery that changes her way of thinking... I feel like there is a lot missing in the movie and things were a little bit rushed.
Also, the actors are not quite as described in the book and I feel like the emotions are not well shown. I don't understand why would you change the story so much.
