Great movie....

Warning: Spoilers
Ms Cortellesi's debut as a director is amazing, as she is known in my country as a comedian, and she surprised most of us with the amazing all around talent.

Maybe being Italian, watching it in its original language and knowing a lot about the period the movie is set in (remembering my grandmother's recollection of life during WW2 in Rome and afterwards) made me appreciate it more than other viewers.

Loved the way the movie is shot, black and white gives it a very special feel, and the settings of a Rome of 1946 are great.

Obviously the most talked to spect of the film is the abuse and violence that too many women took (and sadly some still do) as normal in their lives....

What really got me and I loved is the twist of the real "purpose" of what she is hiding... we think that she is running away with a man that appreciates her to start a new life.... Instead she is risking being beaten again by hiding the fact that she is going to vote with millions of other women that had the right for the first time in our Italian history and changed the course of our country by choosing democracy over monarchy.... Awesome 😊
