A Plot As Tangled As A Net
boblipton11 April 2022
Bert Delaney rescues Ethel Jewett from a shipwreck, and falls in love with her. She agrees to marry him, but when crooked law man Morgan Jones tells her if she runs away with him to share the $50,000 she has stolen, he won't arrest her, she does. Delaney is heartbroken, but soon enough rescues Marian Swayne from quicksand, and they fall in love Meanwhile Jones reads a newspaper notice about how some lawyers are looking for Delaney to give him a fortune, and so the baddies head back to Delaney so Miss Jewett can marry him.

Like many of scripts penned by Thanhouser's Lloyd Lonergan, it's full of unlikely coincidences meant to advance and tangle the plot. The actors are capable and attractive, but the real star is cameraman Lawrence Williams' photograph, taking advantage of the shore near Jacksonville in Florida.
