Mildly interesting antique with an unattractive cast. The picture has some historical value since it is over 100 years old and was restored by the Library of Congress from one surviving print, some of which is mottled and has burn marks.
It is a mundane theme about a man who drinks too much and ends up divorced by his long-suffering wife who has struck up a 'friendship' with an artist who lives upstairs.. They have a 5 year old daughter who the father dotes on and this is the crux of the story, such as it is. Not really compelling and with a pat ending, and not as good as the enticing title would indicate. Shown at Capitolfest, Rome, NY 8/18.
