Stolen by a talking dog...sort of.

Warning: Spoilers
The kiddies in 1945 and on Saturday afternoon TV years later obviously got a kick out of the sequence where the character of Cannonball (Dub Taylor), giving a dog a bath, suddenly hears an obvious ventriloquist throwing his voice to make him think that the dog is accusing him of drowning it, in a delightful cartoon like voice. That ventriloquist gag pops up later, which along with a few musical numbers stretches out the running time of this standard Columbia B western where Charles Starrett's Durango Kid comes to the rescue for sheriff Tex Harding, framed for being a bandit. It's pretty obvious how this is going to turn out, but just a lot of fun along the way. Carole Mathews and Carolina Cotton provide the feminine beauty, although as always, there is no romantic involvement for the always-on-the-go Durango kid.

Outlaw of the Rockies

Tex Harding (Tex Harding) is framed for a bank robbery and his friend, Steve Williams (Charles Starrett), the newly-appointed sheriff of Cornvallis, is forced to jail him. But he gets off to a bad start when Tex escapes and the outraged citizens are convinced that both Steve and Tex are in league with a band of bank robbers terrorizing the territory. Both men are on the dodge but Steve, using his alter-ego of the Durango Kid, manages to clear both of them.

Ok Durango Kid entry with the masked man shelling out his usual six-gun justice against the villains. He gets help from Tex Harding who is also falsely accused of being an outlaw. There's some good action and songs - interesting that Durango's identity isn't a secret as in the later entries featuring Smily Burnette.
