A pleasant surprise!

I didn't really expect much watching this cartoon, but it was actually expertly crafted, the gags work beautifully, and Mel Blanc's unbeatable voice acting and superb animation are top-notch. I really love the fox character, and the use of narration for his words add to the sneakiness of him. The Animation at the beginning and the end at nighttime is eye-drawing, and the "jump-scare" admittedly got me. The bulldog (don't know if he has a name) is really funny, and those listens I might just start repeating all over the place. All in all, Definitely a hidden gem.

"Hey, Chum, never be greedy--that's Lesson #5 . . . "

Warning: Spoilers
. . . the All-American bulldog chides A FOX IN A FIX near the end of this brief cartoon from Warner Bros.' Prognosticators Non Pareil, their Animated Shorts Seers division (aka, The Looney Tuners). Any time you see a red fox in a Warner Bros. cartoon aimed at warning We True Blue Loyal Patriotic Normal Average 99 Per Center Silent Majority Progressive Union Label Citizens of our upcoming Calamities, Catastrophes, Cataclysms, and Apocalypti, you can bet there's a near-100% chance that this deplorable chicken thief is representing the bane of 21st Century America, Red Commie KGB Chief Vlad "The Mad Russian" Putin. "Here, Chum, have a pellet," the valiant Bulldog says to Putin\Fox after the latter shaves his tail to impersonate a canine. "Pellets?! I want pullets!" retorts the Great Deceiver, Sotto Voce, to the Bulldog's magnanimity. But after declaring "I understand that you're a fox and want to steal chickens--to each his own--but don't do it around here!" the brave Bulldog finally finagles Putin\Fox onto a Fox Furrier's Truck that happens to be passing by, for his final judgment, skinning, and rendering. This is Warner's way of saying that when Putin's Fifth Columnist Quisling Fellow Travelers of the Racist Pedophile Machine-Gunning Repug Part Ilk (aka, the GOOPERS) are FINALLY stripped of their ill-gotten wealth, assets, weapons, and property under our Civil Forfeiture Laws, with their citizenship nullified Benedict Arnold-style for High Treason, and swiftly deported to that Delaware-sized ice berg floating next to Antarctica, they MUST be left there Au Naturel, like sly Mr. Fox at the end of A FOX IN A FIX!
