Alan Burnett was an asset that allowed DC to produce some of its best shows. The writer/producer has been a part of a slew of diverse DC projects, ranging from Krypto The Superdog to Batman Beyond, all of which audiences have incredibly well received during their initial runs on various channels.

This article contains major spoilers for The Flash.
Holy revolving door, Batman! The Caped Crusader has been portrayed by more actors on the big screen than any other superhero in history. Most of them have lasted for just one film. After The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale became the first man to have played Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego more than twice on the silver screen. He didn’t have much competition – Michael Keaton was the only other actor to reprise the role at the time.
But Ben Affleck has now beat Bale for appearances as Batman on the big screen due to his return in The Flash movie, making that fourth time Affleck has donned the cape and cowl. Sure, these aren’t movies starring the Caped Crusader but they still count! Meanwhile, Keaton ties Bale for three appearances, with a much heftier role in The Flash than Affleck.

"Batman: The Animated Series" is one of the crowning achievements of American animation. To this day, it's remembered for its atmospheric art design (homaging Fleischer Studios' Superman cartoons) and mature storytelling — even if it never forgot its young target audience along the way. The series' star, the late, legendary Kevin Conroy, is the definitive voice of the Dark Knight for a generation, while Harley Quinn, who was created for the series, has become the most successful DC Comics character who didn't originate in the comics.
The series' success meant its creative team shaped Batman in animation for the next decade. In 1993, the series led to the theatrical film, "Mask of the Phantasm," which took everything great about the series and pushed it further. While "Batman: The Animated Series" ended in 1995, it became only the first installment in the DC Animated Universe, which culminated wiith "Justice League Unlimited," which ran from...

There are a few phrases that no actor wants to hear.
For instance, if a director says "I have a lot of notes," it suddenly means the work day will potentially get a lot longer. "Thank you, we'll let you know" is not something a hopeful performer wants to hear from a casting agent immediately following an audition. Likewise, "We're looking for someone younger." Any one of these can cause great cracks in an actor's ego, which may be an actor's most prominent feature.
Most terrifying of all, however, might be "We can't see you as anyone other than Batman." This was something actor Adam West, according to a 2017 interview with Moviefone (the actor's last before his death) had said to himself a few times after "Batman" was canceled in 1969.
Typecasting, of course, isn't always a curse. Being typecast as a heavy or a villain, for instance, can sometimes assure...

It's with great sorrow that I report fan-favorite Batman star Adam West has passed away. He was 88 years old and he died after a short battle with leukemia. His family offered the following statement:
“Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight, and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero."
A spokesperson for the actor added:
“A true American icon and beloved father and husband, he will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and millions of fans around the world."
I grew up watching reruns of the original 1960's Batman series and I've always enjoyed seeing him pop up in other films and TV shows over the years. It's so sad to hear that he's passed on, but he's left behind a legacy of greatness.

Tarzan, Space Sentinels, The New Adventures Of Batman, Flash Gordon, Bravestarr and more, as we salute Filmation...
For a child of the 1970s and 80s, nothing readied you for a half hour of quality entertainment quite like the Filmation logo. Immortalised by their phenomenal success with He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, and its spin off She-Ra: Princess Of Power, Filmation produced some of the most fondly remembered animated series to grace the small screen.
Over a period of 26 years - in tandem with classic Doctor Who funnily enough - the company's writers, artists and producers delivered a staggering amount of programming. While naysayers point to Filmation's penchant for reusing a stockpile of rotoscoped body movements, or the heavy handedness of its moralising and educational content - children on the other hand, thrilled to an irresistible mixture of action, adventure and superhuman heroes.

Back in 1966 Adam West became one of the first Batman’s to grace our screens, with Burt Ward alongside as his trusty sidekick, Robin. Now the Gotham City duo have returned to reprise their superhero roles, but this time without putting on the tights.
The first trailer for the animated DC film, “Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders,” has just been released and features the voices of West and Ward as the dynamic duo going up against their fiendish foes.
In the clip, Batman and Robin must stop their greatest opponents which include Catwoman, the Joker, the Riddler and Penguin. The goofy, retro-looking sneak peek includes silly jokes and scenes and features the catchy and unforgettable Batman theme song.

Hey ComicBookMovie community! Today I respond to some of the complaints throw around about the critically acclaimed blockbuster: The Dark Knight Rises. For some reason this is the most complained about movie in the entire trilogy, and probably the most complained about in the last decade. Anyway, I warn you guys again of the incoming spoilers. In the words of Bane: "Let the games begin!". That isn't Bane: Why isn't he Bane? He doesn't wear a luchador mask? Last time I checked there have been many different versions of Bane and what his mask looks like. I remember he wore like this a dominatrix type mask with a spiked collar in The New Adventures of Batman. Oh, he doesn't use venom like Bane does? Well if I remember correctly Bane quit using venom before the New 52 reboot since he started to see it as a weakness. Oh his origin is different?...

We take a look back at the 8 crusading actors who’ve played Batman in TV and the movies, as well as his animated avatars!
Holy revolving door, Batman! The Caped Crusader has been portrayed by more actors than any other superhero in movie history – eight to be exact. Most have lasted for just one film. But after The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale has become the first man to have played Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego more than twice on the silver screen. He didn’t have much competition – Michael Keaton was the only other actor to reprise the role at the time.
Ben Affleck tied Bale for appearances as Batman with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, his Suicide Squad cameo, and 2017's Justice League. That run will not extend to a fourth film, though, as Affleck has exited the role. Instead, Robert Pattinson is your new Bruce Wayne.

Burt Ward, who played Batman's sidekick Robin in the 60s TV series and its spin-off movie, is returning to the comics world that spawned his iconic Boy Wonder.
Ward, now aged 66, will appear in a new miniseries from Bluewater Productions that "showcases his superhero legacy and his post-acting passion for pet rescue."
The project is a spin-off from his former co-star's own comic book, The Mis-Adventures of Adam West.
Burt Ward, Boy Wonder will appear first as a free issue during Free Comic Book Day this May and then as a full four-issue mini-series in summer. It's described as "a campy take on Ward's fictional post-Batman life."
The premise follows the actor as he returns to superhero status, this time with his own canine sidekicks as they travel though time fighting villains.

With the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, the third in a trilogy of highly successful Batman movies by Christopher Nolan, and the recent release of the hotly anticipated video game Arkham City, its really never been a better time to be a Batman fan. The past few years have seen a gigantic leap in popularity for DC Comic’s surly, brooding poster boy, a character that has always held a large amount of public affection in its near 80 year history.
With this in mind, WhatCulture has decided to do an article comparing the two most beloved Batman movies: Tim Burton’s Batman from 1989, the iconic and most endearing interpretation of Batman, and The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan’s second take on the World’s Greatest Detective from 2008, the highest grossing and critically revered Batman film to date. As soon as I heard of this, I practically pleaded for the opportunity to write it.

It’s a sad day for Bat-fans around the world. Mark Hamill, best known for his portrayal as Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars films, announced today on his Twitter account that he would no longer be providing his voice to future iterations of the Joker.
To millions of Batman fans, Hamill has been a loyal and highly-praised component to the Batman franchise, lending his voice as the Joker for Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Mask of Phantasm, The New Adventures of Batman and several video game titles including the latest Batman: Arkham City title.
Hamill had hinted a while back that he may step down from voicing the Joker after his stint on Batman: Arkham City, but the above Twitter announcement appears to have confirmed his decision. Christian Bale's incarnation of Batman had hardly been confined to the gritty streets of Gotham City in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight." His Caped Crusader perched high atop skyscrapers, spun aerial pirouettes through the night sky with a pair of retractable wings, and plucked a corrupt businessman into the air thanks to some nifty black-ops technology and a white cargo plane.
But never before has Bale's hero had his very own aircraft, a super-slick Batwing perhaps to park in the Batcave next to his Batpod, which resides within his Batmobile. That's about to change, as photos from the Pittsburgh set of "The Dark Knight Rises" make clear. Director Christopher Nolan has given the craft an entirely new spin, updating what was once an undeniably hokey comic-book creation into the latest, greatest way for Batman to shoot through the air and bust bad-guy butt. Here's a look at the aircraft's evolution.

So, you’re a geek and you might think you know every variation on the Batmobile. You know George Barris’ iconic 1955 Lincoln Futura from the Adam West TV series of the late 60s, and you undoubtedly remember Michael Keaton‘s ride in director Tim Burton‘s late 80s incarnation of the big, black bat, and of course the infamous Tumbler from director Christopher Nolan‘s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight but, the Caped Crusader has had many, many other sets of wheels.
Luckily, the infographic below gives us a look at just about every single one of them, check it out!
My personal faves are The Tumbler, his ride from Batman The Animated Series, and the Batmobile created by Bruce Timm for 1998′s The New Adventures of Batman & Robin. How about you? Drop your favorites in the comments below!
