i love Shelley Duvall and 'Farie Tale' theater. 'Rumplestiltskin' also happens to be one of 'FTT''s very best. which is saying a lot considering how good the 'FTT' productions usually are.
i also happen to be a BIG fan of little Herve Villechaize and think he is WAAAAY underrated as an actor. anyone who has seen this production, or 'Greaser's Palace', or God forbid 'The Forbidden Zone', knows the little guy can really act. Villechaize is one of those "little people" actors, like the legendary Billy Barty and the outstanding Verne Troyer, that proves that physical limitations do not necessarily hinder an actor's performing abilities.
i think Duvall ain't so shabby herself. i love Duvall. her performance in 'Popeye' was, in my opinion, one of the best female leads i've ever seen. she was also great in 'Three Women' and 'The Shining'.
although all the Duvall 'FTT' productions were filmed with video tape and on low budgets, they still hold considerable charm a couple of decades later in a CGI effects dominated market.
along with 'FTT''s 'The Nightengale' with Mickey Jagger, this is 'FTT' at it's very best.
