Mr. Wizard's World was a Nick gem!
Sylviastel24 June 2008
It's too bad that Nickelodeon doesn't show as much Canadian programming as it did in its origins. While Don Herbert was not a native Canadian, he was a science teacher turned television star. This show allowed science to be fun without being intimidating or turned off by boredom of science. Let's face it, I'm not into science or math but I do remember watching this show once in a while particularly early in the morning before I went to school. I don't remember if I ever learned anything but I do remember that it was filmed in Calgary and the experiments. It was probably better than the 1970s show. Don Herbert also known as Mr. Wizard has left us only last year but his legacy is that science doesn't always have to be boring and you can learn something or at least tried too.

Mr. wizard is the best. The opening theme was funny how the statue of the thinker says "hmmmm? hmmmm? A-ha!"I remember those creepy twins that would come over sometimes for experiments. I loved the episode when he made Cocoa Puffs explode with a strange chemical. The one where they were making the computer talk was cool too because it said "hello mister weez-Ard". I invented an electronic musical instrument and named it after him- the DonHerbertron.

Great show!

Warning: Spoilers
I haven't seen this in years, but it was one of my absolute favorite TV shows when I was a kid. I have so many memories of different experiments, like the one where a kid stood on their head to eat something so the food would go up when they swallowed it, or the time when a kid ate food while holding her nose and couldn't taste it, or the time the rubber ball broke into pieces when Mr. Wizard dropped it on the floor. It was from this show that I learned how airplanes fly--by the air flowing OVER the wings, which lifts them up. I learned so much about science from this show that I still remember 20-something years later!

Stacy Petriuk rules in Mr. Wizard's World
KevinB1225 April 2016
I never get enough of this great science show as long there are ones with Stacy Petriuk in the show. This deserves ten stars because this is as good as it get, just as if I never get enough of Bill Nye the Science Guy. This science show rules, especially for Stacy Petriuk. Don Herbert is one of the best science men since Bill Nye, because he understand how things work or what they do as he explains, just as if any high school science teacher explains. That was one of my favourite shows, even since I was a kid, until this year as a grownup man. Long live Don Herbert. Since I understood science in high school, I understand exactly why Don Herbert understands science all the time.
