Don't expect to SEE or know about any murder tapes

Warning: Spoilers
For a series entitled "Ken and Barbie Killers: The Lost Murder Tapes" there's actually virtually NO information on the actual murder tapes. ***spoiler alert!

The series is made up of 4 separate parts. It does not flow smoothly and feels like it had a great concept..but didn't flow together well. There's no continuity between episodes and no real timeline of events - despite on screen pop ups of dates. There's not any real discussion of what is done by the killers. The murders and CAUSE OF DEATH aren't even made known to the watcher. I downloaded Discovery Plus for the free trial just to watch this show- as I've read a few books on the serial killers.

The "mo" of the murderers aren't really discussed either. They simply say the victims are kidnapped. Later they say some were kidnapped and tortured and some were murdered. I'm not quite sure if the rapes were separate from the murders..there was way too much focus on "The Scarborough Rapist" and the victim's backstop without context. No disrespect to the victims!! But I'm not sure what happened to them. They only say they were kidnapped.

There was way too much focus on the tapes..for not showing or giving Info on what the tapes contained..

That is the biggest letdown.

After several hours/ a whole day spent watching each episode back to back...I still don't know how these women were murdered - OR how many victims were murdered.

Were told over and over again- ***seriously-- OVER AND OVER again that the tapes contain the information on the murders..

They do not who/what/where/when or how the victims were murdered or describe in detail or vague description of WHAT IS ON THE TAPES!

Were only told WAY TOO MANY EPISODES IN- that Karla was a willing participant-not a victim.

There's one point where an attorney goes in detail about how he asked a question to Karla that was ridiculously portrayed, he says he told her hey look at this, you put the girl in the casket, didn't you, and she says yeah and puts her head down.

Seriously!!? Who cares that you asked her a question!? That's your job!! And what happened to the girl in the photo!? And why not SHOW THE TRIAL OR VIDEO OF THE MURDERERS ?!!

In a world with tons of true crime--you'd be much better off watching the snapped or ID versions of anything on this crime.

The entire series is CALLED the lost murder tapes-- but- you don't find out until the LAST MINUTES of WAY TOO LONG series -that ALLLLL MURDER TAPES HAVE BEEN BURNED AND WILL NEVER BE REVEALED TO THE PUBLIC!

I feel like I was had or a joke was pulled on me. I watched several hours of stock photo with a fake courtroom sketch.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

The Ken & Barbie Killers

This is the unbelievable but true story of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. What would a bubbly blonde give the love of her life for Christmas - how about her virginity? And if she is not a virgin - how about her sister's virginity? And if that necessitates the poor girl being drugged before being raped, and dying as a result, well, that's life.

Although Paul Bernardo is rightly despised, it is his now ex-wife Karla who has become the fixation of the public's hatred, and not just because she was given an incredibly lenient twelve year sentence for complicity in the rape and manslaughter of her own sister, the rape, torture and murder of two other teenage girls, and becoming the willing partner-in-crime of the man who was already a serial rapist when they met.

There is no wickedness like the wickedness of a woman, and there are some who believe Karla to be as bad as if not worse than Bernardo. Certainly if she wasn't to begin with she morphed into something at least nearly as bad; one thinks of Fred and Rose West.

This documentary covers the story of these two unspeakables fairly comprehensively, although it does not mention that the deal with the Devil was brokered by Marion Boyd, the feminist Attorney General of Ontario.
