There’s been a lot of good found-footage films coming out recently, such as Tahoe Joe 2 and Woods Witch. Now there’s The Glenarma Tapes, an Irish film that begins by telling us that seven people went missing in the woods around Glenarma one night in 2020. One was later found near death and in a coma. Two years later, the police found the footage we’re about to see…
The footage starts innocently enough, as we watch Gordy (Warren McCook; Hope Street) go through his day as a student at Mid Ulster College of Art. His friend Jimmy is making a day-in-the-life type film for his class project. He’s certainly an interesting subject, going from making insightful comments about Romeo and Juliet to...

Writer and director Jordan Peele has hinted that there could be more Nope-related content coming fans’ way in the future. No, it won’t be a full-on Gordy prequel–although how amazing would that be?–but could rather focus on a character you may have never heard of.
In an interview with The New York Times, Jordan Peele was prompted about “online chatter” considering a Nope character listed on IMDb as Nobody. “People are doing a lot of interesting detective work,” he said.
The character of Nobody (played by Michael Busch) was featured briefly in the Nope trailer walking among a group of panicked citizens.
“The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that. Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention. I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future.

After the release of "Nope" officially made writer and director Jordan Peele three for three in terms of box office success and well-received hits in his rapidly rising filmmaking career, fans of the deceptively twisty UFO film quickly turned their minds in a few predictable directions. Will there be a sequel? What happened with all those tantalizing shots that from the trailers that never made it into the movie? And what exactly was the deal with that whole Gordy scene, anyway?
Now that many of us have scene the buzzy film by now, Peele is starting to open up about some of the most intriguing bits of the story ... in a manner of speaking, at least.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Peele was asked about one particularly noticeable character featured throughout the marketing for "Nope" but who never actually appeared in the final product. Portrayed by...

Exclusive: Anonymous Content has put in development a limited series adaptation of Tom Cooper’s novel Florida Man, with Joel Edgerton set to star and executive produce. Quarry co-creator/exec producer Graham Gordy is attached to pen the adaptation and executive produce. Edgerton will executive produce via his Five Henrys production banner, as part of a first-look deal with Anonymous Content.
Florida Man, published by Penguin Random House in July, is a darkly comedic generation-spanning story about how a man decides to live his life, and how despite staying landlocked and stubbornly in one place, the world nevertheless comes to him.
It centers on Reed Crowe (Edgerton), the eponymous Florida Man. He is a middle-aged beach bum, beleaguered and disenfranchised, living on ill-gotten gains deep in the jungly heart of Florida. When sinkholes start opening on Emerald Island, not only are Reed Crowe’s seedy businesses–a moribund motel and a shabby amusement park–endangered,...

Tom Lester, the actor known for the 1960s television series “Green Acres,” has died. He was 81.
Lester was in Nashville at the home of his fiancee, Jackie, at this time of his death Monday, which was due to complications from Parkinson’s disease, according to TMZ.
He played the wide-eyed, friendly farmhand Eb Dawson on the sitcom who was known to say “Golly, Mr. Douglas.” The Mississippi native began acting in plays after moving to Los Angeles, and is said to have beat out 400 other actors for the part of Eb because he actually knew how to milk a cow in real life.
Lester was also known to be a fan of the simple life. According to a 1969 newspaper article, Lester was living “in an apartment above a garage in the San Fernando Valley” even at the height of his “Green Acres” fame. He continued to farm later in life, and won the award for Mississippi’s “Wildlife Farmer of the Year,” where he owned a large timber farm.

Tom Lester, best known for his role as the smart-aleck farmhand Eb Dawson on the ’60s sitcom “Green Acres,” died Monday in Nashville, Tenn. from complications related to Parkinson’s disease. Lester, who was 81, was the last surviving actor of the original “Green Acres” cast.
His death was confirmed by his brother Michael on Facebook and in local media reports.
Born Sep. 23, 1938 in Jackson, Miss., Lester grew up working on his grandfather’s farm. He earned a degree in chemistry at the University of Mississippi and taught in Oklahoma for a few years before making the move to Hollywood. Lester landed his role in “Green Acres” in 1965, beating out the competition because he was the only actor who could actually milk a cow.
He went on to star in “Green Acres” until the show’s end in 1971, also appearing in the two related series “Petticoat Junction” and “Beverly Hillbillies.” Lester and co-star Eddie Albert,...

The worst thing you could do is not give the studio a lot of options,” says unit photographer Frank Masi, whose stills have helped show off more than 70 films, from 1995’s “Gordy” to Disney’s upcoming “Jungle Cruise.” Masi has shot photos of stars Will Smith, Bruce Willis, Will Ferrell, Cameron Diaz, Dwayne Johnson and Hugh Jackman, to name just a few, over a 25-year career.
In a single day, Masi, 53, can snap and send upwards of 800 images. Not all still photographers share this methodology, but it has worked for him. On Jan. 18, the Society of Camera Operators will recognize his contributions to the industry with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Masi has galleries of memories from working on movies like “I, Tonya,” “The Hangover,” “Hancock,” “War of the Worlds,” “What Dreams May Come” and many others.

Michael Jackson made bigger records than Off the Wall, but he arguably never made a better one — the album's masterful fusion of funk, disco, pop and Quiet Storm R&B captures the singer at his most effervescent. A deluxe edition of the record arrives February 26th, accompanied by a new documentary, Michael Jackson's Journey From Motown to Off the Wall, helmed by Spike Lee, who also directed a movie about the 25th anniversary of Bad. From Motown to Off the Wall premiered at Sundance in January, and it airs on Showtime February 5th.

We have a list of the new Hulu movies and shows arriving in October 2018.
Happy Huluween!
Hulu is blessed to have a name that sounds roughly enough like "Hallow." That means it's basically honor-bound to bring the heat for Halloween. Thankfully for the October 2018 new releases, Hulu is bringing us the spookies that we need. The Blair Witch Project, The Others, and Child's Play all arrive this month. And if you're looking for some more wholesome creepies, The Nightmare Before Christmas should do. And if that weren't enough, Hulu is debuting its own horror show - anthology series Into the Dark.
For those shamefully unable to get into the Halloween spirit, Hulu is bringing in some other fun film options. Galaxy Quest, Music and Lyrics, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective should help out with that.
Then of course, are the usual and typically deep TV offerings.

The Fabulous Freebirds are considered a lock to be WWE Hall of Famers in 2016, according to a report from PWInsider. The group consisted of Michael Hayes as the leader along with Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts with Jimmy Garvin also an ally of the trio.
With next year’s WrestleMania taking place in the Dallas, Texas area, it makes sense to induct the Freebirds there since they were among the biggest stars in the Texas area in the 1980s, often feuding with the Von Erich family. Steve Austin speaks fondly about wanting to be a wrestler because of that feud.
The group’s name came from the Lynyrd Skynyrd song “Free Bird” and they were introduced as residing in Badstreet, USA. WWE is currently using the “Freebird Rule” with The New Day as Tag Team Champions because that means that any two of the three guys can compete...
