Dwayne Johnson has led a star-studded career in almost every field he has stepped in — be it sports, entertainment, or business. But that success didn’t save him from getting into an incredibly humiliating moment while meeting one of those brilliant actors he most admired and wanted to meet while growing up. This actor was none other than the late beloved legend, Robin Williams.

Luckily enough for him, even before joining the sequel of William’s widely-celebrated Jumanji film from 1995, Johnson managed to run into the iconic comedian for the very first time in his life. But that first meet was so nerve-wracking for the WWE hunk that it eventually ended up as an embarrassing moment for The Rock, with him even terming it “a disaster!”

From a certain point of view, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare star Eiza González may have just played the original real-life Bond girl.
Ungentlemanly Warfare, the first of González’s three Guy Ritchie movies to hit theaters, is loosely based on the recently declassified Operation Postmaster, chronicling Winston Churchill’s Special Operations Executive (Soe) and their covert mission to neutralize Nazi Germany’s U-boats during World War II. The efforts of these unauthorized commandos and spies helped change the course of the war, allowing the United States to then join the European Theater of Operations in 1942.
In the action-thriller, González plays Marjorie Stewart, a talented soldier-spy who’s equally gifted as a performer. Together with Babs Olusanmokun’s Heron, Stewart set up shop at the Nazi-frequented island of Fernando Po, where they communicated the Nazis’ latest comings and goings to their fellow Soe personnel, including a group of commandos that...

Dwayne Johnson has been focusing more on his wrestling career with the WWE. Being a part of the board of Tko Group Holdings, the actor and professional wrestler performed his first main event match in years in this year’s WrestleMania 40. His return has been lauded by fans, especially after the event.
While he focuses on WWE again, Johnson’s acting career seems to have taken a backseat. With Johnson’s live-action Moana being postponed by a year, the actor has all the time for new projects in Hollywood, including joining another franchise. The actor was seen shaking hands with Marvel President, Kevin Feige, leading to speculations about a possible appearance in the MCU.

WWE Legend Shawn Michaels Selects His Dream Opponent For One Last WrestleMania Match (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Shawn Michaels entertained all pro wrestling fans for years and put a full stop to his glorious career several years back. He faced almost all top names when pro wrestling was at its peak. Now, as several veterans have been making their smashing comebacks, he was recently asked about his dream opponent for one last match at WrestleMania. Without thinking too much, the legend picked one veteran from WWE, keeping aside popular choices like The Rock and Roman Reigns.
For those who don’t know, The Heartbreak Kid ended his dreamy pro wrestling career back in 2010 after he failed to defeat The Undertaker and break his unbeaten streak of WrestleMania. After that, the veteran was seen in action at 2018’s Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia for a one-shot tag match as a partner to...

Dwayne Johnson’s stint at WrestleMania 40 might be over, but he is far from done. Cody Rhodes is the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion after dethroning Roman Reigns, but The Rock is not quite ready to draw the curtains on their rivalry.
The former WWE champion lit up the arena with his presence in the ring on Saturday night. However, the story of the Bloodline ended differently, even as the stakes were against Rhodes. As momentous as the occasion was, Johnson also sounded a warning to the new champion.

In his short break from movies, The Rock has utilized the time with utmost productivity. Certainly, The Rock has a lot on his plate now as he took over the Board of Directors of WWE’s parent company, Tko Holdings. Beyond that, he also owns several businesses including his production company, Seven Bucks Productions; tequila brand, Teremana Tequila; energy drink company Zoa Energy; Project Rock apparel brand and newly launched, the United Football League.

Stan Lee’s favorite DC character could find a place in James Gunn’s Dcu if one director were to helm the film. In the earlier Dceu, reports suggested that Michael Bay was attached to direct a movie featuring the character Lobo. The Transformers director has a knack for creating movies that gamble with absurd characters and produce amazing results. He might be the right fit to handle this character of an intergalactic bounty hunter.
The character of Lobo could still get a solo project in James Gunn’s Dcu
Interestingly, Jason Momoa pitched a solo Lobo film to Gunn during the promotion for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Momoa became a fan of the minor Superman villain of the ’80s who became popular in the ’90s as a parody of grim and gritty characters who defined comics in that decade.

Arnold Schwarzenegger still regrets losing a blockbuster film to Nicolas Cage in 1996. Cage starred alongside Sean Connery in the action thriller film, The Rock. The producers of the film, Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson, initially approached Schwarzenegger for the role of FBI chemical weapons specialist Stanley Godspeed. However, they came with a half-baked script to meet with the Predator star, who asked them to come back when they were completely done with the script.

Several scores will be settled in the biggest stage of the year, which is shaping out to be the biggest WrestleMania in recent history. While all eyes are set on the clash between The Bloodline and Cody Rhodes, even excluding them, the card of Wm Xl is highly jammed.

One of Hollywood’s biggest stars — Dwayne Johnson — has just walked back his endorsement of President Joe Biden, and on Fox News of all places.
You’re welcome?
Disney alumn “The Rock” appeared on Fox & Friends in an interview with Will Cain. He said that he regrets endorsing Biden in 2020 and isn’t happy with the state of the country right now.
“Am I happy with the state of America right now? Well that answer’s no. Do I believe we are going to get better? I believe in that, I’m an optimistic guy and I believe we can get better,” he said.
However, he didn’t specifically endorse Donald Trump, either. Rather, he said he’s not going to share who he’s voting for November.

As Kevin Hart sat in the audience with family and friends for The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize, there were many jokes about his height, quips about his wealth and jabs at his productivity.
What there was very little of was anything political, reflecting Hart’s own style that tends to avoid such topical humor.
Chris Rock did have one moment, though.
“The Mark Twain Award this year. If Trump wins, next year will be the Mark Fuhrman award,” Rock said.
As the audience laughed, Rock added, “It’s going to be nothing but banjos up there.”
He also was among the comics who did a bit of roasting of Hart. “Look at that smile,” Rock said. “You got that second wife happiness.” Hart, surrounded by his wife and kids, laughed.

Fictional secret agent James Bond has gotten into his fair share of scrapes and close calls, but broadly speaking, the high-profile actors who have played him on screen have been pretty safe stepping into the character's expensive shoes. The Bond films have become famous for their jaw-dropping and boundary-pushing stunts, but those moments are the result of teams of people who design and choreograph everything to be as safe as possible for both the stars and their stunt doubles. The James Bond franchise is one of the most lucrative and longest-running film series of all time, but in its very first movie, we nearly lost its first lead actor in a gruesome death that would have robbed movie lovers of some legendary performances and ripped away the franchise's potential before it even got started.
In 1962's "Dr. No," Sean Connery's Bond notices he's being tailed by three assassins while driving up a mountain road.

Baldness is an inevitable aspect of aging for many men, or at least a result of their genetic makeup. However, going bald does not imply losing one’s attractive appearance. For example, Dwayne Johnson, 51, is a perfect example of how going ‘bald’ is just another style. Did we forget to mention his strong, muscle-bound physics, which is a sight to behold for anyone?
Well, his avid admirers are likely to picture him as the bald, ripped guy whom we all adore. But the Baywatch star did not always have such massive, superhuman-like muscles. Indeed, he was just one of us, regular folks, with no muscular pecs or curved arms, or, we can say, just “skinny” Rock.

Since the February 2nd episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The Rock has graced WWE programming once more, indicating his regular presence leading up to WrestleMania 40. His ongoing feud with Cody Rhodes suggests that The Great One will have a notable role in WWE in the coming weeks. Cody Rhodes utterly demolished The Rock on Monday Night Raw this week and it appears one WWE fan made a huge observation about Cody Rhodes that many did not notice.
The Rock, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes
Fans are eagerly awaiting a potential clash between The Rock and Roman Reigns, but there’s a collective desire to ensure that Cody Rhodes’ storyline isn’t overshadowed. Initially, there were concerns about this, but a more balanced approach has been taken. This has led to a change in the course of WrestleMania 40’s storyline, but it is something fans are genuinely enjoying now, following the initial backlash.

Despite launching his career to fresh heights, neither Nicolas Cage or writer/director Mike Figgis were apparently paid for Leaving Las Vegas.
1995’s Leaving Las Vegas was the film that launched Nicolas Cage’s career into another sphere of fame and opportunity. Playing an alcoholic Hollywood screenwriter opposite Elisabeth Shue earned Cage a Best Actor Oscar, opening up all kinds of new career avenues, not least his incredible run as an action star in the blockbuster triumvirate of Con Air, Face/Off and The Rock.
However, despite being the launchpad for an incredibly successful second act in his career in which Nicolas Cage would shoot to global stardom, the actor has revealed that he was probably never paid for the film. Mike Figgis, the movie’s writer and director had already claimed this on The Hollywood Reporter's It Happened In Hollywood podcast while also adding that he himself had never been paid either.

At the SXSW earlier this week, Nicolas Cage agreed with his Leaving Las Vegas writer-director’s reveal on The Hollywood Reporter‘s It Happened in Hollywood podcast that he was never paid for the movie that won him his best actor Oscar.
Cage, who was in Austin promoting his latest movie, Arcadian, spoke about the unpaid bill with Business Insider, telling the website’s reporter that it it’s likely he was never paid for the Mike Figgis-directed 1995 drama for which he won the best actor Oscar, ushering in a successful second act of his career.
“But I haven’t been thinking about it,” Cage said. “I got to play a part that I absolutely had to play. There was no doubt in my mind that it would be an experience and a great movie. I wasn’t going to stop — whether they paid me or not, I was making the movie.

Prison films and series tend to pick one of the following themes: Action flicks with plenty of fighting, starring the likes of a Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme or Scott Adkins. Usually, it’s a good guy fighting for survival against overwhelming odds. Next would be the slew of sexploitation women-in-chains sort, using the premise as an excuse for nudity and other aspects of lurid appeal. Most were B movies that thrived in the 1970s –‘80s. The “Orange is the New Black” series classed that genre up considerably without losing its titillation value. Then there were high-quality character dramas like Shawshank Redemption, Cool Hand Luke and The Rock. Finally come comedies like The Longest Yard.

Dwayne Johnson returned to WWE at Friday Night SmackDown at the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona. The event opened with members of The Bloodline – Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso, and manager Paul Heyman. While the wrestlers made their way to the ring, Roman Reigns told the crowd to acknowledge him and was met with a reception he was definitely not accepting, receiving boos from the audience.

Roman Reigns then went on to ask the crowd to acknowledge him a couple more times and, again, was left disappointed. This prompted the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion to announce that it was time to leave but was stopped by Paul Heyman as they had one surprise entry – Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The Rock. While he was introducing Dwayne Johnson, the cameras panned to Roman Reigns, who was just not having it!

Dwayne Johnson has been getting all the major spotlight in WWE. He is the ultimate main event, even rising above the Universal champion and his cousin Roman Reigns, in terms of reception. His WWE return has certainly shattered the dreams of many WWE superstars to have their slots in main events.

Not only can Dwayne Johnson smell what The Rock is cooking … but he can monetize it now, too.
Last month, WWE owner Tko Group Holdings added Johnson to its board of directors. In conjunction with that move, the company also gave Johnson the IP and trademark rights to his WWE stage name: The Rock.
A new filing from Tko, however, shows that Johnson received more than just the rights to his alter-ego, he also received a bounty of IP rights and trademarks, from nicknames to catchphrases.
That includes The Rock, of course, as well as his signature tagline “If you smell what the rock is cooking.” But it also includes other nicknames, like “The Brahma Bull,” “The People’s Champion,” and “The Samoan Sensation” as well as the names of some of his signature finishing moves: The “Rock Bottom” and “People’s Elbow.”

Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson is seeing a few negative reactions from fans after the actor’s stance on Rebecca Ferguson’s shocking claims about a toxic male co-star. The Dune actor recently stirred the pot when she revealed the manner in which she stood up for herself after the unnamed actor took her for granted and screamed at her on set.

Ferguson’s brave move against her misogynistic co-actor prompted The Rock to give his two cents on the issue. Having worked with the British actor in Hercules, Johnson praised her courage to come forward and vowed to find the celebrity behind this toxic behavior. His endearing support to Ferguson though, is being insinuated rather unfairly by fans as having an ulterior motive.

Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson is producing a film based on the life of his wrestling hero Ric Flair, and considers it a “personal” project. Johnson said on X on: “Woo! As a wild kid, who grew up in the wild world of professional wrestling, I idolised, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. He was one of my heroes. And once I broke into the wrestling business and began to spill my own sweat and blood in arenas across America – my reverence for Ric turned to great respect.
“Because I realised just how rare and almost impossible it is to truly disrupt the wrestling business, and truly change the game – and that’s exactly what Ric Flair did.”
He added that Ric Flair had a relentless passion to be the greatest of all time.
“But with achieving that Goat status – he also sacrificed it all and paid a heavy price. “And lived to tell the story.

It's a new year, so it's time for a new Blu-ray round-up! Our first of 2024! Things are a little sparse here in at the start of the year, but there's still some great stuff to check out. We have Eli Roth's holiday slasher "Thanksgiving" to carve things up. Also, the fine folks at Kino Lorber have released John Woo's bonkers action extravaganza "Face/Off" on 4K! "Face/Off" is technically a December release, but we're including it now. Speaking of action, we also have a 4K release of Gareth Evans' "The Raid," aka "The Raid: Redemption." Finally, on the non-action movie front, we have the Criterion release of John Sayles' Western neo-noir character drama "Lone Star."
So let's get to it. And remember to keep spinning those discs.

Cue the synthesizers — Eddie Murphy is back as Axel Foley. It’s been nearly 30 years since we last saw the fast-talking Detroit cop, but he’s finally heading out on a new case. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F sees Axel on patrol back in Beverly Hills, with friends both old and new — and maybe even a family member. As producer Jerry Bruckheimer tells Tudum, “Eddie's such an incredible artist. He can do drama, he can do comedy – he can do anything. And he’s the same Axel Foley. He’s still on the streets. He’s still doing what he does. Obviously with age you get wiser. But he still has the twinkle in his eye.”
In other words: Axel’s only grown more potent in the last few decades. And so has Murphy. Director Mark Molloy tells Tudum: “Some of the funniest moments in Axel F...

After over 30 years and 1500 episodes, it was announced today that WWE's flagship program, "Raw," (or "Monday Night Raw") is exiting the linear television landscape and becoming a streaming exclusive for Netflix. The streaming juggernaut will become the exclusive new home for "Raw" starting in January 2025 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Latin America, among other territories. Over time, more regions will be added as part of the deal. Eventually, the other WWE weekly programs like "SmackDown" and "Nxt" will also join the Netflix family once their existing deals with USA Network and The CW expire, as will additional programming like documentaries, original series, and other future projects.
Considering WWE has its own production studio, it would be unsurprising if Netflix became the new exclusive distributor of WWE Studios, although this has yet to be confirmed. But what is potentially the biggest get outside of "Raw" is...

When Nicolas Cage won the Best Actor Oscar in 1995 for his devastating portrayal of a heartbroken alcoholic with a death wish in Mike Figgis' "Leaving Las Vegas," he was 31 years old and soaring into the prime of an already impressive career. He had access to the best screenplays in town and the interest of just about every A-list director. So Cage did what any reasonable movie star would do: he made three of the decade's zaniest blockbuster action movies.
For those of us who fell in love with Cage as the good-hearted punk Randy in Martha Coolidge's lovable 1983 film "Valley Girl," he kind of owed us. Though he's utterly brilliant in "Leaving Las Vegas," Figgis' grimy drama makes "The Lost Weekend" look like "Arthur." It's a brutal, frankly unrewarding ordeal. For close to two hours, we watch Cage's financially/personally ruined screenwriter grimly follow through on his promise to speedily drink himself to death.

The New Year lifts off on January 12 when Kevin Hart and his crew plan a heist like no other— at 40,000 ft. Netflix loves Kevin Hart and has given him a couple of Netflix comedy specials, and the comedian loves the streamer back. While his buddy Dwayne Johnson seems to be noticeably absent in this new heist ensemble action film, “Lift,” —it feels like the type of movie Hart would co-star in with The Rock— the film does look exactly like the kind of starry, expensive vehicle that Netflix typically backs.

Lots of people dream of making a studio movie, but in the midst of their reverie, they don't always take into account just what a grueling process it can be. People work long hours and are expected to be at their sharpest every day so that the project doesn't fall behind schedule or go over budget. From the director on down, the pressure to deliver is immense. So every now and then, a little levity is in order. This occasionally results in on-set pranks, which sometimes get a tad out of control.
Consider the case of 1996's "The Fan." Tony Scott's thriller about a die-hard San Francisco Giants fan (Robert De Niro) who begins stalking his favorite baseball player (Wesley Snipes) was a high-profile production for Sony. The studio poured $55 million into the movie, and hoped it would be a late-summer, adult-skewing smash à la "The Fugitive" or "Unforgiven.

From internet memes to a slew of movies, this is the Age of Cage, but Nicolas Cage himself revealed that as he approaches his 60th birthday he is taking stock. He told a sold-out audience at the Red Sea Film Festival that he was winding down his film career after 45 years and over 100 films: “I want to do television; maybe Broadway.” His decision – inspired in part by his son showing him “Breaking Bad” — won’t be final, as he has several film projects in the pipeline, including “Sympathy for the Devil,” co-starring festival jury member Joel Kinnaman and a sequel to 2005’s “Lord of War” — “My character’s son grows up and becomes a rival. It’s very Arthurian,” he said.

Disney’s reputation is notoriously squeaky clean.
The beloved company has provided family-friendly fun for decades, with live-action favorites and animated classics spanning back to the 1930s.
As a powerful force in the industry and one of Hollywood’s biggest studios, the company expanded its reach over the years with film distribution companies, like Touchstone Pictures, Miramax, Searchlight Pictures and Buena Vista Distribution.
The movies often featured more adult themes than one would expect from the company. Because they are published by subsidiaries, the titles are all only indirectly Disney-related – but they still fall under the major studio’s umbrella anyway.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? At least, that’s how it’s supposed to be, but I can’t help but spill the beans on a fantastic trip I recently took to Sin City for the launch of Netflix‘s new series, Obliterated. Premiering today on Netflix, this eight-episode series comes from the guys behind Cobra Kai, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, and is a gloriously profane and non-pc throwback to their Harold & Kumar days – albeit with a heavy dose of Jerry Bruckheimer-style action thrown in.

The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
In 1974, director Tobe Hooper brought us The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. An independent production, shot in the heat of a Texas summer, that introduced us to a chainsaw-wielding cannibal called Leatherface. And his twisted family. It was a box office hit. And quickly became one of the most popular and respected horror films of all time. So, of course, there was eventually a remake. Produced by one of the biggest, flashiest filmmakers in the industry. Directed by a music video director in his feature debut. Starring an actress from a family friendly TV show. It sounds like a recipe for disaster. But when the remake was released in 2003, it was another success story.

Directed by a music video director in his feature debut. Starring an actress from a family friendly TV show. It sounds like a recipe for disaster. But when the remake was released in 2003, it was another success story.

The Woman in the Window (2021)
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Starring: Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie

Trevor Noah’s first podcast guest is … Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
What Now? with Trevor Noah is the latest entry in the comedian’s dizzying portfolio, and he’s been keeping his guest roster under wraps until the weekly pod began rolling out. For those who’ll see The Rock listed and assume What Now? is poised to be just another outlet for A-list celebrities, Noah is quick to dispel that notion. “No, we’re going to have A-list conversations,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Going forward, the Spotify podcast will feature all different types of guests, some considerably more famous than others. As Noah describes it, he’s as interested in booking scientists and CEOs as he is politicians and athletes — so long as they’re interesting and, perhaps even more important, timely. In fact, he’s committed to taping these interviews as close to release as possible to ensure the latter.

“Hitori Gotoh just wants to be popular, but the thought of interacting with her classmates makes her fall to pieces. Her solution-become a rock legend so cool that people approach her instead! However, while spending all of middle school in her closet shredding on the guitar may have earned her anonymous internet fame, it did nothing for her social skills. Now a high schooler, Hitori's feeling ready to shrivel up and die-when she gets a sudden request to fill in for a band! It's like her wish came true-but does this most anxious of introverts have what it takes to perform in front of a live audience?!” (Yen Press)
