[Editor’s note: The following contains minor spoilers for “Sense8” Season 2, Episode 6, “Isolated Above, Connected Below.”]
“Sense8” is one of TV’s craziest, most unique series, and no one knows that better than executive producer Grant Hill — the guy who has to handle the show’s insane production logistics. While in the thick of production, the cast and crew are constantly traveling from location to location, literally spanning the globe over the course of months.
Hill began working with Lana and Lilly Wachowski as the unit production manager (Upm) on “The Matrix Reloaded,” and has been involved with all of their projects ever since. But the challenges presented by “Sense8” were a step beyond what he’d been asked to do before. “Probably the hardest but the best decision we made was that we wanted to film everything that was scripted in a particular city in that city,” he explained.

Sensates, they grow up so fast these days.
In the most recent trailer for Season 2 of Netflix’s totally bonkers “Sense8,” we see that our favorite cluster of eight — Capheus (Toby Onwumere), Kala (Tina Desai), Lito (Miguel Angel Silvestre), Nomi (Jamie Clayton), Riley (Tuppence Middleton) , Sun (Doona Bae), Will (Brian J. Smith) and Wolfgang (Max Riemelt) — has really come together and are owning their linked identity and strengths.

This means far more cooperation, especially when it comes to fighting. That’s good since it appears that our unfairly good-looking cluster is about to go mano a mano (times ocho) with another cluster that is clearly evil (note the goatee and shades on that one guy). Take a look at the face-off below:
Dude, Wolfgang just head-butted a woman!

1. “Master of None” (available May 12)
Why Should I Watch It? Aziz Ansari’s debut original series arrived in its first season as a progressive-minded, discussion-oriented, diverse, smart, cinematic, and very, very funny comedy. It’s honestly hard to imagine what more you could ask for a new television show these days, if only considering how many shows are begging for your attention. “Master of None” earns it, and quickly. Season 2 looks to be more of the same — meaning different, which is what we need.
Best Episode: Netflix has a tight lid on Season 2 episodes, but the embargo on reviews lifts Wednesday, May 3, so expect to hear a lot more in a few days.

When Netflix has a resident rock star scientist like Bill Nye on the payroll, you can bet the streaming service will put him to good use beyond just hosting his show, “Bill Nye Saves the World.”
In the video below, Nye takes on one of the scientific theories seen in Netflix’s breakout hit “Stranger Things.” On the show itself, teacher Mr. Clarke (Randall P. Havens) took a stab at explaining how to travel to an alternate dimension. His interpretation involved drawing on a paper plate and an elaborate metaphor involving an acrobat, a flea and a rope (no, they didn’t walk into a bar). The rather simplistic explanation, however, didn’t really say how said alternate dimension could exist, which is understandable. There’s no way that Mr. Clarke knew that the boys were dealing with the Upside Down.

On a beautiful day at the beach, Cora Tannetti gets up off her blanket, picks up a knife, and repeatedly stabs a random man sitting in front of her. So why does a regular person walk up to a stranger and stab him to death? This is the very basic premise of “The Sinner,” USA Network’s upcoming adaptation of Petra Hammesfahr’s book, starring Jessica Biel (“BoJack Horseman”), Bill Pullman (“Independence Day”), and Christopher Abbott (“James White”).
The murder scene, which happens very early in the pilot, is a shocking, brutal, and blunt moment, foreshadowing more gruesome surprises to come. If the scene marked the start of a traditional series, “The Sinner” would feel like it’s already stringing out its big reveal. There’s too little backstory and too many opaque teases toward Cora’s motivations in the first hour for us to stick around for five seasons...

In accomplishments, impact, and general appearance, there are few figures in history who need an introduction less than Albert Einstein, a man whose impact on global culture is well-documented and rarely disputed. “Genius,” National Geographic’s largest foray into scripted drama to date, wants to make the point that, even in his day, Einstein was already a celebrity.
Out on the streets of Berlin as a rally passes or in a lecture hall with eager observers lining the rafters, the Einstein of “Genius” becomes a figure that demands attention. His scientific insights made him a target for fascist suppressors and inquisitive thinkers alike, which makes the show’s continuous decision to boldly intone Einstein’s greatness, as if it were something to be proven, all the more curious. Context is vital to understanding the man’s true achievements, but the self-imposed, continuous weight of history somehow robs this series of...

Theater vet Kevin Carroll has come a long way since he was first cast two years ago on The Leftovers as John Murphy, a family man with a dark past, and the only resident of Miracle who doesn't believe in miracles. Now dreading the upcoming end of the HBO series, Carroll wasn't just unfamiliar with show before accepting the role -- he had never even heard of it.
"I didn't know that the show was already on the air," he recently told Et over the phone, reflecting on his time on the drama as it prepares to air its third and final season. "I was doing some theater stuff, and I was out and around auditioning for things, and I think one week I had three or four different auditions. I remember being very curious about this material, but in classic Damon [Lindelof]-Tom [Perrotta] fashion, you get the sides, but you don't get a lot of information."

Chicago P.D.‘s Antonio is on the move to spinoff Chicago Justice — but he’s not leaving his old unit behind forever.
Even though the detective will shift to NBC’s legal offshoot as a series regular later this season, actor Jon Seda tells TVLine he’ll be visiting Intelligence plenty in the future. In fact, Antonio will be jumping between the franchise’s many dramas all season long.

Chicago P.D.‘s Season 4 premiere on Wednesday night can be summed up as a staring contest between Voight and Lindsay.

Aardman talked to Screen in Annecy about future projects - including the Eddie Redmayne-voiced Early Man - BFI support and learning curves.
Aardman Animations is the most successful animation company in British film history; its films have generated worldwide box office revenue of close to $1 billion and it is a cherished international brand.
Despite its global success, however, Aardman still considers itself to be a niche player in the ultra competitive Us animation market.

Recently, "Boardwalk Empire's" Ron Livingston told Zap2it of his time on HBO's "Sex and the City": "I don't think there's an actor in New York who didn't either die on a 'Law & Order' or wasn't one of Carrie's boyfriends."
While not all of 2013's Emmy nominees died on "Law & Order" (some of them had to be the killer/rapist/criminal mastermind), 29 of them have a connection with one or more installment of the "L&O" franchise.
"Homeland's" Morena Baccarin did her time as a "Criminal Intent" extra, and "30 Rock" nominee Alec Baldwin has actually never been on "Law & Order." But he did get a co-credit for the story that became Season 8's "Tabloid."
Bobby Cannavale -- who is nominated for both his "Boardwalk Empire" and "Nurse Jackie" roles this year -- has always been an overachiever, having appeared on "Law & Order," "Svu" and "Criminal Intent." But...

With influences ranging from At The Drive-In, Refused, Botch, These Arms Are Snakes, Young Legionnaire and many more bands who regularly soundtrack my early drive into work – clawing the sleep from my eyes and shaking the fuzz from my brain – or plague my ears as I’m out walking the dog, to say I was intrigued to hear what Radio Alcatraz were all about is a bit of an understatement. As soon as the CD arrived through my letterbox, in my CD player it went and that’s pretty much how it’s stayed. I think my neighbours can now even air-guitar the riffs.
The band hail from London and Brighton and have shared the stage with the likes of punk legends Anti-Flag, Godsized – who’ve toured with Black Label Society, and also smaller, hardcore, underground bands such as Palm Reader and Housefires.

Ah, the twists and turns of a classic Svu storyline. You think you're getting an investigation into one crime, when another pops up seemingly out of nowhere.
"Learning Curve" was advertised as a dramatic episode for Fin and his gay son. Turns out, that plot was just the catalyst for another investigation. It wasn't necessarily a bait-and-switch (we did get some tense scenes in the hospital room), but the misdirect was somewhat unexpected.
After last week's episode veered away from the personal lives of our detectives, Fin's relationship with his kid (always a little rocky) became the focus at the show's opening.
While it was nice to see that Fin had worked through the majority of his problems with his son's sexuality, I felt like these scenes were included just to show us how tolerant he is now. Becoming an advocate for his son, he can't help but speak up...

Martha Stewart's "Law & Order: Svu" role is one that comes very natural to her. The TV veteran appears in "Learning Curve" (Wed., May 9, 10 p.m. Et on NBC) as the head mistress of a girl's school, and in this exclusive behind the scenes interview, Stewart explained why.
"I'm really a teacher on TV, the host of a show," Stewart said. "So it's kind of always invigorating and yet nerve-racking to play a dramatic part."
In the episode, Detective Tutuola's (Ice-t) son's fiance is assaulted by a street gang. He's the latest victim in a string of recent hate crimes against gay men. The Svu squad springs into action, but a private school teacher ("Arrested Development's" Tony Hale) is attacked, breaking the pattern. Is it a cover up? "Hung's" Jane Adams also guest stars in the twisted episode that only "Svu" could deliver.

"The Age of Innocence 3D"? That might have been the case if the 3D technology had been around when Martin Scorsese first filmed Edith Wharton's tragic love story. After shooting "Hugo" in 3D last year and earning an Oscar nomination for his efforts, Scorsese has become such a convert to the format that he said at a CinemaCon panel on Wednesday that he would have shot all of his "post-'Raging Bull" films in three dimension. Susan Lucci isn't letting the cancellation of "All My Children" keep her from working. The actress, who has already landed a prime role in Marc Cherry's soapy pilot "Devious Maids," has just booked a recurring guest-starring spot on "Army Wives," reuniting her with former "AMC" costar Kim Delaney.
Lifetime announced that Lucci will make several special appearances in a recurring role as Audrey, the wife of a retired Brigadier General. Her first episode, "Learning Curve," airs Sunday, March 18 at 9 p.m. on Lifetime. The episode description says that "Claudia Joy (Delaney) feels threatened by Denise's friendship with Jackie Clarke (Kelli Williams) and starts to confide in an old friend, Audrey (Lucci)."
The episode also features a special performance by country singer and Army vet Craig Morgan.
"Army Wives" follows the adventures of a group of women living on an active army post and is currently in its sixth season.

If there was one thing that critics and comic book fans agreed on this summer it was that Green Lantern was one big let down. While there are those who may have enjoyed the experience, it’s clear that the movie did not make the splash that Iron Man, The Dark Knight had made in recent years or even Captain America or Thor made this summer. In the conversation about this year’s superhero movies, Green Lantern has all but disappeared.
This past weekend saw the premiere of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, a computer animated cartoon show that was surprisingly enjoyable and avoided a lot of the problems the film fell into. It leaves one to wonder, why does the cartoon succeed where the movie failed?
As a long time Green Lantern fan, I had high hopes for the movie and went in hoping for the best. My...

Cirque du Soleil A scene from “Zarkana”
Cirque du Soleil’s latest show, “Zarkana,” opened last week at Radio City Music Hall. It’s the most ambitious production the show has ever mounted, due to the scale of the venue. Radio City is the largest indoor theater in the world, housing over 6,000 seats.
Studded with computer-generated imagery, blue sand art and of course, breathtaking stunts, the show employs around 70 acrobats who probably think doing 50 splits in a row is akin...

After Miss Cooke has a heart attack, supply teacher Mr Walmsley is called in to take over a class of “future felons of America”. Left with lesson plans merely stating “read whatever”, Walmsley is unafraid of his arrogant pupils describing them “as interesting as a fever blister” and being disciplined on his first day for threatening a kid. Through Walmsely’s experiences writer-director Andy Anderson explores the hypocrisy of current morés in education, fulfilling the dreams of many abused inner-city teachers in his 1998 film, Detention.
Faced with students who call him “Mr Fuck You” and “arsehole”, Walmsley is fighting a losing battle. Witnessing a student trying to sexually assault a teacher and later hearing how the psychotic girlfriend of this pupil seriously beat the same teacher, Walmsley formulates a clever plan - “The Push Start Programme”. Almost untraceable with his empty wallet, temporary address and disinterest in collecting pay cheques,...

Director Claire McCarthy and producer Jamie Hilton have made a film with an Australian heart and dressed up in a colourful sari, taking our cinema to a new land full of creative and business opportunities. Miguel Gonzalez reports.
The Waiting City tells the story of an Australian couple who arrive in Calcutta, India, to pick up the girl they have adopted. Unaware that local bureaucracy will force them to wait for days before they can see her for the first time, the stress of waiting, amplified by the culture shock, will test their relationship as they are forced to confront the problems they’ve been avoiding for a long time.
It is not based on a true story, but many that writer/director Claire McCarthy witnessed as she built her own relationship with India.
McCarthy’s connection with the country was born in 2002 when, along with her younger sister Helena,...
