This reporter was not feeling the Disney magic. Disneyland's new Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: Breakout! ride opened in place of popular drop ride the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Saturday. Several reporters got a sneak peek of it. One of them, Cory James of ABC30 Action News in Fresno, California, found it particularly terrifying. He was filmed riding the ride live on TV Friday and could not stop screaming. At one point, he looked like he was about to pass out. James said on Good Morning America Saturday that he had never been to the theme park before, so he had no idea what to expect from the ride. "I'm not from California, so this is...

The Hair of Jericho: Cut it off, maaan! It’s not exactly breaking news that WWE Superstar and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho cut off his trademark long, golden locks and now sports a higher-and-tighter look — after all, that happened, like, 10 years ago. Well, TheWrap wanted to talk about hair anyway with the United States Champion when we caught up with him last week, so we did. This reporter asked the heavy metal singer and Codebreaker delivery machine whether it was weirder for his on-stage career or the in-ring one when he ditched the classic rocker and wrestler look. Don’t waste one.

Nobody ever said being President was going to be easy.
On Designated Survivor Season 1 Episode 13, Tom had to make some tough choices as he dealt with the aftermath of the MacLeish tragedy.
It's hard to believe that Tom has only been President for only weeks. It seems like a lifetime, doesn't it?
So much has happened in such a short time and none of it has been easy.
The one constant in his life has been his wife and kids, but because of the nature of the job, he's barely had any time to spend with wife, let alone his kids.
It's truly a sad state of affairs, but Tom has to do what he has to do. He has the most important job in the world. Having cute little family moments like he did in the beginning of the series, just doesn't really fit anymore.
So it's actually quite...

*Disclaimer* Minor Logan spoilers, but no ending or major plot ruining -- most of this was already known before hand.
I am not sure how Logan has done so well, because I saw it last night and it was Terrible! Kidding Kidding. I loved it, and it was refreshing that the super villains of the film were a frail old man, and a robotic armed Reaver that continually got beaten down the entire movie. There was no Magneto, Apocolypse, Dark Phoenix, Mr. Sinister, or any overpowered badguy. No, the main threat to Logan this movie, were bullets and empathy. This may be the actual allure for the general public who would not normally want to watch a superhero throwdown movie. It seems that the critics and the fans agree, as the worldwide box office total is now at $263.5 million, and the movie has been out for only five days, not...

Shawn Michaels put many a man down for the count with his finishing move, Sweet Chin Music — a devastating boot to the jaw commonly referred to in today’s wrestling ring as the Superkick. There’s no way TheWrap was going to interview the WWE legend without geeking out over his storied squared-circle career, and we decided to go granular. This reporter asked the Heartbreak Kid to teach him how to throw the perfect Superkick. “I don’t even know that I’d be the one to ask, because I don’t know if I throw it decently or not!

William Shatner is being coy on whether he's in Star Trek Beyond: "Am I in the next movie? Tell me!"
If you've been expecting answers about William Shatner's rumoured cameo in Star Trek Beyond, think again.
Having long been rumoured for a cameo as the original James Tiberius Kirk, Shatner has been tight-lipped since the script was re-worked by Doug Jung and Simon Pegg.
Shatner was asked about the likelihood of a Star Trek return at Comic-Con International today (July 9), and revealed that he was originally approached for Jj Abrams's 2009 reboot.
However, Abrams apparently chose to go with Spock actor Leonard Nimoy instead when news of a Shatner cameo leaked.
Addressing Star Trek Beyond at Comic-Con, he coyly said: "This reporter knew more about it than I did [back in 2009]. So back to you my friend! Am I in the next movie? Tell me!"
Co-writer and cast member Pegg teased earlier this year that he had little doubt of Shatner's capability of playing Captain Kirk again.

Ever wonder what Jennifer Lawrence does when she gets the hiccups? This reporter just happened to be passing by the Hunger Games star at last night's celebrity-packed Vanity Fair Cannes Film Festival party when Lawrence cried out, "Seriously, I need some water now." Attentive Lionsgate handlers rushed to find her some, while Lawrence explained to her posse, "The only thing that ever works for getting rid of hiccups for me is when I drink water and raise my arms over my head and lower them very slowly." She said this with her arms raised skyward, as if to brace everyone around her with a preview. Then she hiccuped. "I have the water but I need a glass!" said one harried male Lionsgate handler, rushing toward Lawrence with an Evian glass bottle about a third of the way full. "No glass, she'll just chug it from the bottle," said a woman...

Justin has seen his share of bad press lately, with a graffiti incident, tour issues and a visit to a brothel drastically overshadowing any positive news. But the Biebs proved he has a sense of humor, sending a tweet to David Hasselhoff about how he died (eight times!) and had a baby. Allegedly.
Justin Bieber‘s isn’t the first name that comes to mind when you think of ‘people who should be giving advice to former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff on Twitter,’ but that’s exactly what the 19-year-old crooner did when he noticed that the Hoff was complaining about false rumors on Twitter.

According to Harry Knowles at Ain't It Cool News, the first stand alone movie within the "Star Wars" universe could focus on Yoda. From Knowles report:
The first Stand Alone film is going to center upon Yoda. At this stage specifics are sparse, but Kathleen Kennedy is putting together a Star Wars slate... I'm wildly curious for more details on the Yoda film - would this be a young or old Yoda tale?
Kennedy, who was instrumental in getting J.J. Abrams to direct "Star Wars: Episode VII," took over as Lucasfilm head when George Lucas sold his billion dollar production company to Disney last October. The plan was to not only continue the "Star Wars" franchise with episodes "VII," "VIII" and "IX," but also expand the universe. That means single-focus films that live within the world, not unlike what Marvel has done with "Thor,...

Yesterday I wrote about a an article Vulture posted regarding Zack Snyder possibly directing a Star Wars film. He wasn’t doing Episode VII, but another film that takes place in the Sw universe. You can read it here.
Shortly thereafter Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter that he “is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars.”
Today, Vulture is standing by their original story and source.
From Vulture:
“This reporter heard through a source very familiar with the situation that Snyder recently flew up to Marin County to meet with Lucasfilm execs about the project. When subsequently reached by Vulture, Snyder’s spokesperson would only repeat that he ‘is’ not currently involved.”
So, why would Snyder and his reps deny this, if it is true?

Y’all I’m going to need The Force to help me sort all of these news accounts. Earlier today everyone jumped on board with the news that Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) was going to direct the next Star Wars movie and since then it’s been a game of semantics. First it was news that he was working on Episode VII. Then No. He has no interest in working on Episode VII. Then it was Ha. He would be working on a movie that will run parallel to the new Trilogy. Then No.
Have I lost you yet? Here’s the latest. Well, as of this minute.
Even though the report has come in that has given the resounding No, Vulture stand by their guns and here’s why.
Though the Hollywood Reporter quoted Snyder’s rep as saying that he “is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars,...

Earlier today New York magazine's showbiz gossip source Vulture broke the story that Watchmen / 300 director Zack Snyder would be making his own Star Wars movie. It wouldn't be the long prophecised Episode VII, or Episode VIII, or even Episode IX, but a stand-alone Star Wars movie that would feature new, never before seen Jedi characters.
This rumored Star Wars movie that Snyder was going to make would be his version of Akira Korosawa's Seven Samurai, with the Jedi Knights and their lightsabers subbing for the blade-wielding ronin.
Vulture's story swiftly spread around the internet like the Millennium Falcon doing their speedy version of the Kessel Run. But a few short hours afterward, The Hollywood Reporter doused a bucket of cold water on their competitor's tale.
According to a rep of Snyder's that spoke with THR, the Man of Steel filmmaker "is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars.

Earlier today, the news broke (via Vulture) that director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Man of Steel) is developing, "an as-yet-untitled Jedi epic loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai, with the ronin and katana being replaced by the Force-wielding knights and their iconic lightsabers". His spokesperson soon denied this report by claiming that "Zack is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars" despite being a huge fan of the franchise. Well, the site weren't happy with their exclusive being debunked and were quick to provide the following details and explanation in regards to their scoop about the possible Star Wars spin-off. Vulture takes the accuracy of its reports very seriously. And while a piece published in The Hollywood Reporter this evening quotes Snyder's rep as saying that the director "is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars," Vulture stands by its story. It is a glorious time to be a nerd right now. We're getting a new Star Wars trilogy (starting in 2015), Jurassic Park 4 finally has a release date, and now word is coming in that Zack Snyder is working on Another Star Wars film that will be a standalone movie apart from the upcoming trilogy.
[Update: I guess it was wishful thinking after all. Zack Snyder has come forward to THR to deny the report that he's involved in any way, shape, or form with the new Star Wars movies. He's not working on this film, and he has broken my heart. Oh well, Vulture is allowed to be wrong every once in a while. Perhaps the word on the film is correct, but it's not Snyder handling it.]
[Update #2: Vulture is vehemently defending their original article and saying that the Snyder reps are instead trying to keep things underwraps and not reveal it at this time. Vulture added this to their article:

Here's some awesomely surprising news for you! A rumor just hit the internet that director Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) is developing a Star Wars samurai movie for Lucasfilm! How freakin' cool is that?! Even though we're all anticipating Star Wars: Episode VII, some of you may forget that Lucasfilm and Disney are also developing other Star Wars properties.
The movie that Snyder is working on is set in the same Star Wars universe that we all know and love. Vulture reports that the untitled Jedi epic will loosely be based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic film, Seven Samurai, with the ronin and katana being replaced by the Force-wielding Jedi knights and their badass lightsabers described in the film as… "an elegant weapon, for a more civilized age."
The movie will most likely be a stand-alone film, and not part of the future episodes that will continue the story of the original saga.

At this point, the reboot of Spider-Man should look transparently ridiculous to just about everyone (as if the fact that they’re rebooting a highly successful franchise within ten years of its release wasn’t enough). The production has reportedly hired C. Thomas Howell to swing with Spider-Man. This reporter is simply speculating that Howell won’t do blackface for the role, but with Donald Glover unfairly out of the running, anything is possible. In truth, Howell is an averagely talented actor who has been out of the spotlight long enough to make a Travolta-esque comeback (a reboot of his own), and a side role in a huge film might just be the first step in that process. If nothing else, it gives us all an excuse to watch The Outsiders again. Oddly enough, someone out there can probably start thinking of that movie for a reboot, too. Might as well.

July 28, 2010: Don’t go by the headline, as the curtain raiser of ‘India’s Got Talent 2’ was no formal affair. So bowled were the onlookers by the talent on display that they simply kept salivating for more. More will unfold this Friday at 9.00 pm on Colors.
There’s one thing watching from your living room, but nothing can match the experience of seeing a talent perform live. This reporter had the privilege of viewing some spectacular performances, something which most media men were deprived last year.
The ballroom became the stage; the judges were perched right next to.

June 3, 2010:Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai is the name of the show. And, it looks like Romit Raj was in the mood to make a thoda (little) appearance at the show’s press conference.
An extremely tired and sick looking Raj simply walked out unable to cater to the journo’s demands. This reporter tried having a word with the actors earlier, but Raj looked ill, and so he requested to be obliged. However, the electronic media wasn’t done with him.
The actor was feeling uneasy and he couldn’t take on the pressure anymore. Out of nowhere, he simply walked out of the studios. A colleague.

The TCM Classic Film Festival closed out an incredible weekend last night with a bang, with the North American premiere of The Complete Metropolis, the definitive restoration of Fritz Lang’s science fiction masterpiece, incorporating footage discovered in Buenos Aires in 2008. Nearly a half an hour has been restored into the film, seen here (almost) complete for the first time since the film’s Berlin premiere in 1927.
Immediately after the premiere, German distributor Ufa re-cut the film from 153 minutes to 114 minutes, and it was this version that was distributed internationally, including American release through Paramount Pictures, who performed their own editing job on the picture, excising content to fit the film into a 90 minute slot as well as to tone down the political themes at the core of the film. This is the version that had been available to audiences for nearly 80 years. In 2001, Kino International released a superb restoration of what was then available,...
