A turning point in Pakistani movie history
waris94 February 2002
A movie which completely transformed Pakistani movies till the death of Sultan Rahi. Sultan Rahi was getting very small roles before that movie but in Bashira he got a breakthrough, which lead him to perform the "same role" for more than 20 years. The movie is full of extreme violence and Sultan Rahi played a leading role of an angry man who takes revenge from bad guys.

I hate the movie because it eventually changed the choice of movie watchers which ultimately hurt norms of the society. Formula-lover Pakistani directors made films on the same Bashira lines for a long time and forced the people to watch that kind of movies, even some of them are still making that type of movies. That's why the box office success rate of Pakistani movies is very very low. And that's why we see no original work in Pakistani movies till now.

Nevertheless, the movie was a super-hit irrespective of its effect on Pakistani movies and society.
