A mixture of personal liberalization and cultural introspection
zzmale30 March 2004
The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Death and the Lass.

This movie is a mixture of personal liberalization and cultural introspection in that it challenges the rigid boundaries set by the traditional Confucian teaching, which mandates that elders must not show their emotions at the presence of youth, while men and women are not supposed to socialize. This movie challenges these outdated believes in that it emphasize the fact that people should be able to making friends without worrying what others say, and it is quite all right to show your emotions.
