I liked this a bit better than the movie.

I liked "Coming Home" but thought the ever-present and overbearing soundtrack really harmed the overall picture. Because this was NOT a problem with "Coming Back Home" and because I enjoyed listening to the folks talk about the film and its impact, I actually found myself enjoying this short film even more than the movie.

This is a special feature included on the DVD for "Coming Home" and consists of Bruce Dern, Jon Voight and Haskell Wexler discussing the movie and its impact. While it is clearly an anti-war film, hearing about their motivation and the vets' reactions to them was well worth hearing. The only downside is that the director, Hal Ashby, couldn't be in the film since he'd died relatively young from cancer. In addition, Jane Fonda did not participate. So, as a result, it feels a bit incomplete--but still well worth your time. If you see the movie, you really should see this short.
