If Nintendo 64 hadn't come out this same year, I'm sure the ratings on this game would be through the roof! It's awesome! It's not really 3D, but it gives the impression of it with a bird's eye view and not a sidescrolling view. The object really isn't given, but I think it is to rescue all of the Flickies(little birds) on the island you are on.

"SONIC 3D" (1996, MD version) is a really cool game and the best Sonic The Hedgehog game outside of the original 3 in my opinion because it's levels are varied, colourful, familiar yet original, accompanied by awesome music, and the badnicks are well designed. Plus Robotnik's contraptions are fun to fight. The special stages are entertaining and I love collecting flickies.
It gets a 9 from me and I do recommend it.

This is a fantastic Sonic game, and arguably the most challenging in the series, as it's rather different from the rest. The Graphics are very good, and the game play is also top notch, plus it even starts to gets difficult in the 2nd level!. It really is a fun game, but I have so much difficulty with it, rarely do I even get past the 2nd level, plus the levels are much harder. Like all Sonic games, the music is very catchy, and it also has a lot of cool different features as well, although it can be frustrating. This time, you have to kill bad guys, and catch 5 little birds, in order to jump into the big ring, and move into another part of the level, and be careful not to lose them, otherwise it's a pain in the ass to catch them, plus it sucks that I never get past the 2nd level, because in the demo mode, the levels look so cool, and lots of fun to play!. The only time you will see Tails or Knuckles, is when you bump into them and they get you free lives, and I think this is a very underrated game as well, plus I play it very often. This is a fantastic Sonic game, and arguably the most challenging in the series, as it's rather different from the rest, and I say go play it now!. ***** out of 5

Oh wow, SONIC 3D!!! I loved this game so hard when it came out. It gets a lot of hate but doooood, it's isometric heaven!
And that music! So good.
The special stages! 14 of them, 7 for emeralds and 7 for lives. Wonderful.
My only wish is that super sonic be in it. I know, the Director's Cut, and that other ROM hack, but I can only enjoy it in the original game because that's what I love! But oh well, it's fine.
I love collecting Flickies and depositing them in the rings. I love running on lava in the fire shield. I love spinning through rock and being fired out of a cannon! If you like all that too, look no further!!

Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most famous video games of all time! The characters, the jumping, the power-ups, and the sure thrill of adventure makes this entire series a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!
Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!
Graphics: The graphics are wonderful. The backgrounds are really beautiful!
Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you find out that it will become more difficult!
Music: The music is great! Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!
Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!
Overall: I have always loved Sonic the Hedgehog! If you like excellent adventure games then I strongly recommend you play this game!

Sonic 3D: Flickies's Island utilizes Isometric video game graphics to give a 3D top down perspective. It's very similar to the original 2D games but with less platforming. The graphics are good looking and it plays well.
It's fun to play, and the poor reviews that it receives are just nonsense.
