My Dinner With Vladimir
jonathan-5773 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
After an alleyway in the Annex doubles for Moscow in the opening shootout scene, there is practically nothing for the next 75 minutes except a variety of RCMP employees sitting around a dark office and talking about what might possibly be some exciting activities if you were to actually SHOW them. These people just will not shut up!! The scenario involves Commie agents choreographing a hijack of a plane with a 'dirty bomb,' how timely. The bomb is stewarded by this neurotic f*ckup and the whole plot revolves around how the Commies knew he would f*ck up in just this way, a script nuance worthy of Jon-Mikl Thor. We're told that this bomb would merely blow up a 'small city,' so of course in order to disarm it they take it down to Ontario Place! After talking about it a lot, of course. And this being another shot-on-video 'action' movie via CHCH Hamilton, we get lots of eighties hair, stupid repartee for days, a denouement involving a discussion of where to go for dinner, and two priceless seconds of a couple guys watching the monitor at the far end of the set. In the toilet paper of cinema, "Doomsday Plot" is one ply.
