Eight Days a Week: Hockney Doc Shows Artist’s Colorful Life
Guiding auds through his career from his early days growing up in Bradford, to moving to Los Angeles in the sixties, influential British artist David Hockney’s life is laid bare in Randall Wright’s titular Hockney. Although there have been documentaries following Hockney before, recently Make Your Own Damn Art! (John Rodgers, 2013) and Waiting for Hockney (Billy Pappas, 2008), this is the first documentary to give a full picture of his upbringing, his influences and to interview the artist himself as well as his dearest friends. The result is an intimate portrait of an intriguing man, whose cheeky spirit and sense of fun hasn’t yet diminished, despite now living a relatively quiet life in Los Angeles.
Now 77-years-old, it’s obvious that Hockney enjoys his privacy, and doesn’t like having his life displayed in public as his art is.

The Hangover franchise director Todd Phillips has been developing a comedic drama called Arms & The Dudes for a couple years now at his Green Hat Banner, but now the project is part of a new partnership the filmmaker has with actor Bradley Cooper. The two are teaming to produce the film, based on a Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson, about two stoners living in Miami Beach who become big-time arms dealers with a $300 million contract to supply weapons for its allies in Afghanistan. And now Deadline reports Shia Labeouf and Jesse Eisenberg will play the lead roles in the film set at Warner Bros. Pictures. Read on! While the two found fast success as arms dealers, they also found themselves in trouble abroad and in the United States with the Pentagon, quickly learning that they were absolutely out of their league. This likely won't be a straight-up comedy like Phillips has done before,...

How do you follow a giant hit like "The Hangover" franchise? Despite the commercially disappointing third film in the series, Todd Phillips' Wolf Pack series is one of the most successful comedies in film history, but it appears that he's looking to step away from the comedy genre. Since the release of "The Hangover Part III," Phililps has become attached to thriller "Trust Your Eyes" and an adaptation of pulp hero Mack Bolan that would potentially reteam him "Hangover" star Bradley Cooper (with whom he's co-founded the production company Green Hat). But it looks like another project may come first, as Phillips is gearing up to direct the true-life tale "Arms & The Dude." Based on a Rolling Stone article and adapted by "Lucky Number Slevin" scribe Jason Smilovic, the film tells the story of two stoners who semi-accidentally become arms dealers in Afghanistan. And though Jonah Hill was circling the.

Exclusive: Warner Bros and Todd Phillips are starting to get serious about Arms & The Dudes, the film about two stoners who become arms dealers. Talks are about to get underway with Jesse Eisenberg and Shia Labeouf to star in a film that Phillips will direct about the two unlikeliest arms dealers who got a $300 million contract to supply weapons for its allies in Afghanistan. They soon found themselves in danger abroad and in trouble back home because they were completely out of their depth. The pic is based on a Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson and Phillips has been working on it for years under his Green Hat banner; it becomes the first major project since he joined forces with Bradley Cooper. Mark Gordon is also producing and Bryan Zuriff is exec producer. Jason Smilovic is writing the script with Phillips. Gordon got this party started, finding the article...

Sharing three Hangovers with anybody is rarely a good experience. But for director Todd Phillips and Bradley Cooper, the aftermath of their experience is to pool their resources and form a new unnamed production company in a three-year deal at Warner Bros. That’s where Phillips has been a fixture at Green Hat, and where Cooper is also based under his increasingly prolific 22nd & Indiana Pictures banner. They hatched the company with Warner Bros president Greg Silverman, and it might well be the most formidable pairing of an actor and director since Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney had the WB-based Section Eight. Insiders said that the new partners grew very close, and that Cooper has used him as a soundboard as his own producing volume has increased. They are expected to redouble their efforts and become very active as producers in films Cooper will also sometimes star in and which Phillips will direct.

Director Todd Phillips has brought in some big money ($1.2 billion worldwide) for Warner Bros., so it's no surprise they have re-upped his contract. Deadline reports that he's been resigned to a new first-look deal through the end of 2013. Phillips' Green Hat Films has been based at the studio since 2005, after he directed the 2004 comedy Starsky & Hutch.
He is currently working on the third installment of The Hangover, and has four other projects in development. Here is what Green Hat is currently developing:

Todd Phillips has already made Warner Bros. a ridiculous amount of money. Both Hangover movies pulled in more than $250 million domestically and internationally those numbers exceed $450 million (Part II managed to make $580 million at the global box office). That doesn't even include Due Date, which didn't make quite the same amount of money as the comedy phenomenon from 2009, but managed to make over $200 million worldwide. Those numbers solidify the filmmaker as one of the most bankable directors working in Hollywood today and now he has the deal to prove it. Todd Phillips. Green Hat Films has re-uped its contract with WB and has locked a first look deal that will keep the director making movies for the studio through the end of 2013. What's more, Green Hat already has the four titles in stages of development that Phillips could tackle next (not to mention The Hangover Part III). They are as...

Long before Todd Phillips found success in two Hangover movies, the director helmed Old School, Road Trip, and the PG-13 adaptation of Starsky and Hutch. But it was the Hangover movies that put Phillips on the comedic map and gave Warner Bros. an ample amount of box office revenue. While Phillips and his team prepares for The Hangover Part III and the promotional tour for Project X, Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is extending its deal with the director’s Green Hat Films through 2013 and revealed the company’s upcoming projects:
Mule – a movie about a young couple’s desperate turn to drug trafficking in order to make ends meet.
Arms and the Dudes – a movie about two drug addicts who discover their success in arms dealing but hit rock bottom when the government raids their compound.

Todd Phillips’ Green Hat Films banner has been set up at Warner Bros. ever since “Starsky & Hutch” in 2004. While not every film he’s made since has been a huge hit (“School for Scoundrels” for one, but that was a Dimension/Weinstein Company picture), ever since “The Hangover” arrived, it’s helped Green Hat gross $1.2 billion worldwide. Suffice to say Warner Bros. loves Phillips and the feeling is mutual. According to a just-delivered press release, the company just re-upped their deal with Green Hat that keeps him on the Warners lot until the end of 2013. And while that deal’s just been restruck, Phillips and Green Hat are developing four new films, some of which could end up to be directorial efforts for the director. “Todd’s been a cherished member of the Warner family for a long time, and the comedic genius he’s brought to the big screen...

Are you at all surprised Levi is such a deadbeat?
Bristol Palin is taking her baby daddy Levi Johnston to court — and she’s got her eye on the estimated $105,000 he acquired in 2009 from his Playgirl shoot and his many ridiculous media appearances, TMZ is reporting. Bristol, 19, is demanding that Levi, 19, fork over $1,750 a month in back child support for their son, one-year-old baby Tripp. “I have received limited and sporadic financial assistance from Levi,” Bristol says in a statement, adding that Levi has only paid child support twice since Tripp’s birth, $3,000 on Sept. 9, 2009 and $1,400 on Dec. 19, 2009. Come on, Levi — step up and be a man!
It’s always a shame to see parents at odds, but what makes this whole situation even harder is that these two are still just 19 years old! Teenagers aren’t really equipped to be handling the pressures of parenthood and all the financial obligations that come with it.

She’s only an analyst for now, with no sign that she’s planning on gunning for a more high-profile anchor position, but that isn’t keeping Glenn from fearing the worst.
