An extraordinary film about political activism and a meditation on nuclear waste and it's cultural, social and political impact on our society.
Towerfilms3 October 2004
Trespassing poetically examines our fight for survival. By focusing on the battle around nuclear storage in the Four- Corners area of the United States. DeMenezes carefully unpacks a deadly controversy around land rights, strip mining and the disposal of the worlds nuclear waste. Trespassing is an evocative meditation on the ability of a culture to bring itself to the brink of annihilation while simultaneously producing "gatekeepers" to combat that annihilation. This is a challenging and breathtakingly beautiful film that questions how we live our lives by evocatively examining a subject crucial to our survival as a species. Across a broad spectrum from Nagasaki survivors to Native American Tribal leaders this film offers an in depth and provocative examination of historical survival and struggle designed to impact the present generation and alter a deadly course of action.

Trespassing

I had the opportunity to attend the screening of Trespassing at PAFF, Los Angeles this afternoon. I found the film to be a very instructive and captivating mix of footage shot on location, combined with archival materials. It truly captured the essence of our government's agendas and it's lack of concern for the people living on this planet.

The courage and passion of all involved was inspirational. The level of commitment on the part of both film subjects and filmmakers was very evident and extraordinary.

Mr. DeMenezes film was truly worth seeing and I hope many others will have the opportunity to be exposed to this vital and important documentary. Very powerful!!!!
