spoiler ahead for anyone who's been lucky enough not to see it.
Gclub423 March 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I just want 2 say that i saw this movie and disliked it greatly. i thought the person they chose 2 play Sara this time around was completely awful in the role. they didn't finish anything they started in the first, like Sara's relationship with Tyler. they left out Deena and her whole family. Deena was her best friend in the first movie she lived right across the street and they helped raise each other's children all of a sudden there's no Deena. I know i'm rambling and not really finishing sentences or thoughts but i just really disliked this movie. if you can avoid seeing it do so like the plague, i know i wish i had.

Gail O'Grady does a good job...
MarieGabrielle22 August 2006
Okay, I will admit this is one of the movies you may watch while you are folding the laundry. Still and all, it's not a bad sequel to the first movie, where O'Grady has a fling with Grant Show, becomes pregnant, and has the child (Jake) without informing the sperm donor (words used in the script to refer to the father, not mine).

Chelsea Hobbs is O'Grady's teenage daughter, and also seems believable; meets a new older (i.e. non high-school) boyfriend, and gets stood up. Learns a few lessons.

Grant Show, the father of O'Grady's baby, pops on the scene, while she is engaged to a rather one-dimensional character, played by Rick Roberts. He is a trial lawyer at O'Grady's firm; O'Grady apparently advanced from paralegal to staff attorney in less than 3 years. She now has to pass the bar, so she can put the baby in daycare, send daughter to a good college, give the grandmother a break (grandma takes aerobics lessons), and she also needs to choose between Show and the attorney played by Roberts.

If you can suspend your disbelief for an hour or so, the scenes with O'Grady and the baby are quite nice; Grant Show attempts to reconcile, she initially says no. There is a surprise ending. Gail O'Grady keeps the audience interested in how this story will develop. 8/10.

Warner Home Video is slowing down
jim-122529 September 2006
As far as I am concerned, this is not a sequel, as some suggest, for that implies that 'Sex & The Single Mom' reaches a satisfactory conclusion, thereby making it stand-alone. Not subscribing to this viewpoint, I wish to pose that 'More Sex & The Single Mom' is Part 2 of a bilogy - a bilogy being one step short of a trilogy! I hasten to point out that any similarity in sound between bilogy and bilge is quite inappropriate in the case of these movies. Of course, there will be some who disagree. That is inevitable.

Circumstances have changed somewhat in the three years since Part 1. Sara has grown out of all recognition (!), but is still a nice girl (!), and Jake is now a lovable youngster. Ex husband, Nick, is out of the picture, having been replaced by Jess's colleague, Steve, who now fulfils the role of steady boyfriend. Friendly neighbour, Deena, doesn't seem to be about, but not to worry as friendly neighbour, Megan, is there to support as friend and confidante to Jess. Then guess what happens …..

Having bought the DVD to find out what occurred in Part 1, I am currently left with only half the story. Not a happy situation! It took just over sixteen months for Warner Home Video to bring out the DVD following the release of 'Sex & The Single Mom'. As Part 2 was released in early February 2005, I would have expected the DVD to have been available by mid-June this year. Come on, Warner Home Video! Don't drag your feet.

More Sex and the Single Mom on DVD(part 2)
lreddin16 June 2009
Please hurry and put "Part 2" on DVD so that I can sit and watch the movies straight thru, not being left in suspense.I love both of the main characters and the story line is very interesting. It's sad that when a story is worth watching, you're left hanging for a conclusion. Please contact the Lifetime Movie Network and ask them to make the second part available on DVD,More Sex and the Single Mom. It also would be nice to know what happens once the couple and their son are together with all the other family members. It would be good writing to bring back Deena and her family, which lived across the street. And to know what happened to the that family as well. The story line in part one Sex and the Single Mom, should left in tack. This is what keeps a fan connected to the story. It's sad that more movie producers don't grasp this concept. The conclusion is very important, it's the key to keeping your viewers coming back. Thank you.
