Strictly one joke
planktonrules30 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is a short film that does show skill and some originality, though the joke wasn't all that funny and there really wasn't any more to it than that.

The film is a fake news bulletin. A helium advertising balloon has crashed and since helium is a stable inert gas, there is no fire--just lots and lots of helium released in the air. As a result, the reporter and the witnesses all talk in a high voice--as if they all just sucked in helium (sounding a lot like Munchkins). That's all there is to it and at 3 minutes, the film actually seemed a bit long. I would like to see the film makers try again, but perhaps with a longer news cast. This helium item along with some other fake news could prove to be quite funny.

It's a Hilarious Short!!

This is a flat our hilarious short. Everyone who sees it loves it. And how can't you? It's only 3 minutes long. Making it a REAL short. It's not like those other so called shorts that take the joke way too far and become boring. It's a real short!!

Of course I am biased because I worked on this thing, but I jumped on board while it was in rough cut, and I did so because it was so funny. I was at Tom Ayer's birthday party. When he showed this thing, all the guests went crazy. At that moment I knew I had to jump on board, throw my two cents in, and steal some of the creative thunder.

As an added plug, checkout Tom Ayers and Nicole Rayburn in Kisses And Caroms. An equally hilarious feature film.

Funny stuff!!

Short and sweet film about a blimp that crashes in a small town and all the helium escapes. Funny stuff, great idea....how did they do that? Guess they used real helium. Especially liked the blonde chick, both of them. I wonder how much it costs to crash a real blimp for a short film. The two guys holding the blimp line were really funny and the blooper reel at the end is hysterical, it explains how they didn't use a sound effect for the voices, just inhaled a lot of helium instead. What some people will do for their art. It's nice to see that with a dinky little camera and not a lot of budget, a short film like this can be so funny. Look forward to seeing more
