Being a witness to murder is indeed a notorious affair!

Warning: Spoilers
When a 17 year old girl is murdered, the entire city is shocked, but for teacher Anne Francis, it's a precarious predicament because she witnessed the departure of the killer, and while unable to identify him is able to clear the teenager arrested. But her presence at the scene of the crime is hampered that she's been a naughty girl, caught up in an affair with the married Robert Webber, just leaving the site of their liason and afraid of how the scandal would look. Once again, police detective Ben Gazzara and defense attorney Chuck Connors are on the case, and it's pretty obvious that the scandalous affair will be revealed as well as the identity of the killer. What's unclear is the repercussions that the scandalous revelations will have.

Maybe not a huge star, but definitely a glamorous presence, Francis gets to show her character's guilt even though it's more of a moral issue than a legal one, and that brings more than just one element of tension to the drama. It's decent, not great, stretched out to 75 minutes when it could have been dramatized and wrapped up in as little as 45 minutes. This is definitely written with the teen audience in mind, with the victim having been involved with two young men, making her date to a dance on that fateful night jealous by leaving with another boy. Typical drive-in teen angst slowed down for the small screen, and having enough twists to keep audiences of all ages guessing what would happen.
